Fort Myers and Cedar Rapids are having great seasons, and alot of it has to do with Sano and Buxton playing at an elite level. Hopefully they are the type of players who win wherever they go and bring that to the Twins.

De Vries is kind of a sad story. Too bad he got hurt. Now he is probably 3rd on the Depth Chart to get called up behind Gibson & Worley

i won't be surprised if he is the next person to be DFA'ed

No, I don't think so. Cole De Vries has earned his way gradually up the ladder by becoming an expert at the art of pitching. He's got four decent pitches, but nothing overwhelming about any of them. On the other hand, he's got good command, and his release point for all his pitches is nearly identical, so his deception is above average.

Success for a guy like De Vries depends on refining his technique and figuring out the best tactical approach to each hitter. He's a tightrope walker learning to juggle torches and chainsaws. It's not impossible, but it's never going to be easy.

Yes and no. For an undrafted free agent to make the big leagues with his home town team is an incredible story. I'm glad he did.

On the other hand, I don't think he'd be a starting pitcher on any other team (poor 2012 Twins). Maybe he has a spot in the bullpen, in which case he needs to just keep grinding it out.

DeVries MIGHT just get the long-relief chance. It's him or Swarzak, depending on how badly the Twins want to go with arbitration with Anthony and how he ends up[ pitching for the rest of the season. DeVries just has to hang in there. It's said, but he had his chance and his injury curtailed his biggest opportunity!

It was sweet being at the game and watching 9 hits in a row to start an inning. Wonder when the last time a team had 9 hits in a row. The first few hits were well placed INF hits.

Hicks is starting to use the opposite field and with power, hit one off the top of the wall last night, and hit one out to LF tonight. His swing isn't as long as it was early when he tried to pull everything. I really like Hicks a lot.
