Finally! MLB tv includes minor league games!

People have been talking a lot about Bally going bankrupt, and MLB possibly terminating their contracts with Bally, and instead removing blackout restrictions on their app, but as a fan of the minor leagues, I am also exited that MLB tv is now officially broadcasting MiLB games on the app too. I have long wanted to watch saints or cedar rapids games, but unwilling to pay for the MiLB tv app which I would only use once in a while. The price for MLB tv went up 10$, but is is well worth it to be able to watch brooks lee and others work their way up to the bigs.

There was a separately priced MiLB.tv option for the minor leagues in years past, wasn't there?  Wasn't too expensive either.  $10 or thereabouts.  Maybe it was 20.  I think all this is, is a ploy to get everyone to accept the smaller add-on package, even if at a bit lower price per "seat", thus making them more money because everyone now has to pay it.

Not that I'm criticizing - I enjoyed tuning into the minor league games, when I remembered to.  Problem was, I would forget, and I think I dropped the subscription the next year because I wasn't using it enough.  In effect, this move reels me back in again, like the fish that I am, for the extra $10.

I may be misremembering though.

Yeah I think it was $20.00 extra and I paid it every year but I never watched a ton of games as I just don't have that much time.  Still it was nice to watch some of the breakout prospects and especially pitchers to see how they looked live.

I think you are right though they want everyone to pay for that service as I am sure it costs money to maintain it. Even if only $10.00 more this year it is a way to get extra money and sell it as a feature.  I use it so no big deal either way to me but for those who would never watch MiLB games it just adds to the cost.
