Twins Payroll now at $157 million?

I would imagine it would depend on who becomes available to the Twins.  Obviously, I can only speculate like the rest of you but if, for some odd reason, Corbin Burnes or Logan Webb were to become available to them, I think they'd find a way to make it work.  The won't be, but I was struggling for an example off the top of my head. (I've always liked Ketel Marte, how's that for a random name?)

How high?  I guess I don't know. I doubt they're taking on Mike Trout or Gerrit Cole (again, in Bizarro World).  They probably have room for one more solid addition like Michael Wacha (and, yes, he IS solid), barring a trade.

Actually, Maeda is probably in the starting rotation.  I estimated $6M because I did not think he would get a lot of innings.

You hit on what will be a very interesting thing to watch this year.  Winder looked pretty good in his initial starts and bad after he came back from injury.  Varland looked like he just might earn that 5th spot.  When exactly I don't know.  Then, when will Paddack come back and how will he look.  Personally, I  hope Winder / Varland and SWR all step-up and make it a real battle for the SP positions.  If Paddack is healthy we should be 8-10 deep.  maybe we even get something (long relief) out of Dobnak.

Agreed, a 6 man rotation would not surprise me. Likely Maeda, Ober, and Winder will be 5 and fly starters, so effective multi inning relief from a couple pitchers will be continue to be important, in order to manage workload and still win games.
