I think they have a legitimate shot at Correa. Whether that's a 33% chance or a 60% chance, I don't know. But with reports of the Mets being "frustrated" at the exact same moment I'm hearing positive things about the Twins' negotiations with Boras, it leads me to believe the Twins have a legit shot at getting this done.

I wonder if Correa has a copy all the doctors' reports and tests that have been done. Seems they should all be competent reports. Does he own them? Certainly he gets a copy, regardless. Do the Twins need to do more tests? or just to interpret what has just been done, perhaps some of the tests twice already.?.? 

And we already have plans to play Miranda at third. I hope Correa wouldn't be too disappointed about playing short instead of 3rd, as he has been identifying as a 3rd baseman for at least two weeks, and the emotional roller coaster could be devastating.

I am not a lawyer, but my understanding of the law in this regard is that the medical facility where care was provided owns the medical record. This is protected information and may be shared only with the patient, with anyone explicitly authorized by the patient to receive that information, or with anyone associated with the medical facility as needed to provide further care or for related purposes such as billing.

Yep, I've seen several reports this morning, from different sources, saying that talks with the Twins are heating up. Now, whether that's Boras playing his game with the Mets, trying to get them to the finish line...well, I guess we'll see. Maybe there really is something to the Twins getting back into the mix.

If they are the third team to pass on Correa,  the team would get a free pass.  You also are underestimating the fact Correa may not want to come back to the Twins.   If thats the case there isn't much the management could do.

So just how bad was that Mets deal?  200M over 6 years all of his prime years is the best deal I could have imagined.  If he meets the vesting option add another 4 years at 70M Absolutely perfect.  Am I dreaming.  Why would the Mets or Giants not so this deal?  They don't want the high AAV?  This sets the Twins up to give out larger contracts if some of the yong players turn into stars or superstars.  Like I said I couldn't imagine a more perfect deal for the Twins.  Correa just needs to stay healthy and bring that 4 WAR a year or so and he will really, really, help this team.

Mets can’t afford the deal,  I know it seems odd to say but with the luxury tax the Mets were already at a pain point. As to Giants they had already pivoted plus likely had a bad taste in their mouth.

Interesting.  I've been to some Met's fan sites and most of them are laughing at us.  They think this is a horrible deal and that the Twins just hung themselves on a player that will be a huge albatross contract for us in just 2 or 3 years.

The plate vibrating incident is easily explainable. Since there isn’t much tissue around the ankle, it’s common that patients with surgically inserted plates in the area can experience irritation with direct pressure.

“Any time of a contusion, especially sliding into a base or even if you hit the side of a table, that can cause quite a bit of pain,” Oji said. “Because it’s literally just the skin, a little bit of soft tissue, then the plate.” 

It’s possible, but unlikely that Correa’s chronic back issues are related to the ankle procedure, Oji said. Another potential but improbable issue, Oji said, is that Correa’s surgery altered the position of his ankle and caused instability in the ligaments.

The latter hypothetical, though, would lead to significant discomfort. Since Correa hasn’t hit the injured list because of his ankle, Oji’s suspicion level is low for that outcome. Either Correa has an incredible pain tolerance, or his ankle is correctly positioned.

The main long-term concern for ankle fractures is arthritis in the joint"

The Met's can certainly afford the deal.  Should Baseball have allowed them to do it, absolutely not.  They are already at 371 million which is 100 million more than the next team on the list.  That's totally absurd.  

Baseball needs a salary cap END OF STORY.  When they striked in 1994 / 1995 they should have held the MLB Players association out and said salary cap or you're never coming back.
