I think we are all unified in disliking the Gallo signing ... though there may be some that don't mind it.

 

One thing I don't like much about today's game is all the swing and miss. And Gallo is the poster boy for it.

im not sure what this prestige tells us though, since Ted Williams had no Sac hits and only 20 sac flies in his career. He likely just had enormous RISP and only played a few years after the stat was instituted

Well... Thank You. I'm not going to get any sleep tonight because I'll be trying to figure out how this is even possible. Freel hit 22 Home Runs so he probably couldn't reach the OF. ?

Gallo has the strength to reach the warning track with his pop ups. His home run total of 177 is tops on the list while his 12 GDP is lowest on the list.   

The Twins just got a rare player indeed.

Rare is right...horrible situational hitter.  AND, if you put him in the middle of the lineup..more often than not a rally killer.  Unless you have great talent and situational hitters around him, and the Twins don't seem to have those..he could exacerbate last season's issues, unless everyone else around him improves.  Bad roster construction by this FO.

I admit that I don't know why? 

However... Is the roster done?

Claiming "bad roster construction by this FO" with off-season remaining is like walking into a unfinished basement and telling a person while he is working on the basement that the basement looks like ****.  

If the roster is done... I'll join you in this sentiment.

I think Gallo was signed to be part of a blockbuster multi-player trade that will bring over Correa from the Giants.

Money that was for C4? Youre kidding right? Even at 10 mil a year for Gio's arbitration that money was NOTHING to sway any c4 negotiations. And they got Squat for him.  What a bold move, and then they sit on their hands while almost every free agent  goes off the board. I like Vasquez and I see the value in Gallo but.....  Jim Pohlad thinks you A+ ask the fans...I say D-.
