With Correa Gone, What Will Bring Fans Back to Target Field?

the costs you quote seem reasonable to me for a full night of entertainment provided by the best baseball players in the world. What did you want the costs to be? I don't know if you're noticed the cost of everything has skyrocketed. You've seen inflation numbers the last couple of years?

Inflation is a major reason why people weren't attending last year. The cost of everything went up which means people had a lot less money available to spend on entertainment. It is the first item people will cut to save money.

I will also state that Major League Baseball is less entertaining now than at any point I can remember. Games take longer than ever before and there is less action (fewer balls in play, fewer stolen bases) in between those long pauses.

I have been pounding this drum since the season ended. San Diego drew 1.2 million more fans than the Twins last season. The team was weak fundamentally and rarely played an interesting game. Cleveland, by contrast, was a must watch team, even before they caught and passed the Twins. Some trades are needed and a shift in attitude and strategy must follow. A repeat of the plan would result in a further loss of butts in seats.

Cleveland has also been very successful in winning games over the past decade.  Since 2010, Cleveland has the 7th most wins in MLB. Twins are 21st out of 30, behind the White Sox, Phillies and Mariners and just ahead of the Reds.

Eternal hope. Did anyone pick Cleveland last year? Maybe the team is suddenly healthy and the starting rotation all pitch to their potential. Ryan learns change up to compliment his fastball and becomes unhittable. Maybe the bullpen won't blow games. Miranda and Polanco turn into defensive wizards and the bats pop. Whatchamacallit holds down short and Lewis comes back a month earlier than expected, as good as new. And maybe Buxton stays healthy....

I'll just leave the rose colored glasses here while I go buy lottery tickets...

I agree. That is the plan.

Nothing? Casual fans show up for home runs and winning.

And the two most prolific home run hitters this team has had in decades are sitting at home wondering if they'll have work in 2023.  Both right handed hitters, which my TD associates tell me is a desperate need of this team.
