GAME THREAD: Twins @ White Sox, 10/4/22, 7:10CT | 8:10ET

Recommended Posts

Good Evening, aTwinsFanInMaryland here tonight with your game thread as the season comes to a disappointing close this week. One positive thing we can still cheer for this evening is Luis Arraez and his quest for the batting title. He is currently .006 points ahead of Aaron Judge (at least that’s what my public school math says). Dan Hayes, Twins writer from The Athletic, has it broken down even further.

The Pitchers:

RHP #74 Josh Winder (4-5, 4.31 ERA, 45K’s) vs RHP #27 Lucas Giolito (10-9, 5.00 ERA, 173K’s)

The Lineup:

Twins:

1. Luis Arraez DH

2. Carlo Correa SS

3. Gio Urshela 3B

4. Nick Gordon 2B

5. Jose Miranda 1B

6. Ryan Jeffers C

7. Jake Cave LF

8. Gilberto Celestino CF

9. Matt Wallner RF

White Sox:

1. Elvis Andrus SS

2. Yoán Moncada 3B

3. José Abreu 1B

4. Eloy Jiménez DH

5. Gavin Sheets RF

6. AJ Pollock LF

7. Yasmani Grandal C

8. Romy Gonzalez 2B

9. Adam Engel

Draft Kings Odds: Twins (+120) White Sox (-190) o/u 7.5

I hope you all have enjoy the threads I've put out to you this year. This was my first year participating and I've enjoyed bringing these to you. Have a good offseason.

Good luck to Aerrez tonight.  A hit or 2 could wrap up the AL batting title.  I must say I was upset he wasn't used as a pinch hitter last night.  We had the tying run on in the ninth, and Baldelli didn't send him up.  That goes against the grain.  The object is to win games first and if personal goals are achieved, that's great. I sometimes wonder where Baldelli's head is at.  That was a terrible messagehe sent out, to his players, no matter how big or small a deal it was.

Now he can go 0 for rest of season.  Including playoffs.

That may well be the case for rest of season.  He struck out and then done for the night.

He got his record HR so I'm guessing Yankees give him a rest tomorrow to get ready for playoffs.

They ought to just forfeit the last game. I mean, really, what is the point.? They are just so pathetic now. Sloppy. Embarrassing.  Total collapse.

Hey, they could use Pagan again, as he threw less than 1-0 pitches yesterday. Save all the other arms for tomorrows finale!

This game as well as the end of the Twins season has been one huge embarrassment. Anyone can disagree but the lack of anything worthwhile in the past couple weeks has been aggravating. the team is totally dead. Hard to believe that on Labor Day these guys were still in serious contention. Then it all fell apart in a big way.

Arraez toughs out one hit and currently leads Judge by 5 points. I think his batting title is safe. Judge may not play tomorrow and even if he does, thats a lot to make up in one game. So premature congrats to Arraez....maybe the one thing Twins fans can be proud of in this forgettable season. I'm sure they will find all kinds of positives, but right now I'm really in no mood for them.
