Battled their tails off the last week or so.

It looked like that at first glance, but on closer inspection it turns out that the Twins have just put their tails between their legs.

Worthless and weak.  Flying to MN from NM tomorrow.  Was going to catch a game.  Not now just settle for Vikes.

We have plenty of pro sports teams to choose from that are sure to meet your needs for crushing disappointment.

In the dept of meaningless items - I don't see how Pasquantino's at bat in the 8th inning was scored a hit rather than an error by Miranda - this team has a lot of fundamental things to work on this offseason.   This season other teams just are running like crazy on them and we are unable or have no interest in stealing a base or even executing a hit and run.  With larger bases next season I am very afraid how much more other teams will take advantage of this team in the running game.   If they come back next year playing like this I may take a pass on watching them.

If you ever wonder what a baseball team looks like when it completely quits…watch practically any game this month. I don’t know how you bring the majority of players and staff back next year.

Considering that the majority of the starting players are on the IL, I don't think that you can fairly judge them. The MLB talent they have been able to play has put up pretty decent numbers in general, but when you have to trot out AA/AAA level players every night it's pretty hard to compete, even with the KC Royals...

The team is 46-61 since May 24, their high water mark. Sure the injuries don’t help, but that’s 4 months of bad baseball. And now it seems they’ve outright quit. And today’s lineup was not a AAA fest. Hamilton and wallner were the 2 mostly AAA guys. The rest of the lineup has seen significant MLB playing time all year

Even the Yankees and Dodgers have off nights (not to confuse the Twins with either). But seriously, Celestino, Cave, Palacios, Leon, Beckham, Garlick, Contreras, Hamilton, and Hamilton should not be starting everyday. Even Arraez and Gordon are more suited to super-utility roles than everyday starters.

Two weeks ago the Twins beat the Yankees and were heading home to face Cleveland with a chance to make a run for the division. Today the Royals complete a sweep against the Twins. A pathetic non effort by this team which has gotten progressively worse since the end of May.

But that one win against the Yankees was a lucky win and they were already struggling at that point.  No surprise this has happened.

I am glad to see they have 73 wins in the bank.  No chance at 90 losses, which otherwise I would have said is their level of demonstrated ability.

I think the team you are seeing as is is worse than a 90 loss team.  If healthy well...will this group ever stay healthy?

I am not surprised, not at all, but as far as your “lucky” win comment, it’s the majors, a win is a win, you could argue the Yankees had “lucky” wins against the Twins…. But I wouldn’t, a win is a win

That is BS, the one win was because they played up to their capailities for that game, just like the when they blew out  the Yankees 8-1 earlier in the year; it is poor performance that  causes the loses, luck has nothing to do with it.
