Twins Run End-of-Season Ticket Deals to Bolster Ballpark Attendance

The days are getting shorter and the baseball season is fading (and so are the Twins playoff hopes), but if you are still hoping to get to Target Field to enjoy some fall baseball, the Twins are running a myriad of deals in order to get fans out to the ballpark on a dime.

Currently, the Twins are ranked 20/30 teams in attendance with 22,321 fans per game. History shows that team performance has a sizeable impact on attendance: in 2019, the AL Central Champion, Bomba Squad Twins drew 28,322 fans per game, and some of its most-attended games were in September. With kids back in school and the Twins 2022 playoff hopes looking grim, the team is running some new deals and fan incentives to combat potential light fan attendance. Here is a roundup of the deals the Twins are running the rest of the season and some of my other money-saving ballpark tips.

1. College night every night- Every September home game is now college night, including weekends. Students can grab $5 standing room tickets on the Twins website or through the MLB Ballpark app. Students who buy a ticket will also get a free MLB.tv subscription for the rest of the 2022 season.  https://www.mlb.com/twins/tickets/specials/student-discount.
2. Cheap single-game tickets- Twins fans will have the opportunity to see Mike Trout and potential MVP Shohei Ohtani for cheap during the Angels series September 23-25. Tickets for this series start at $14 through the Twins website (and are similarly priced after fees on ticket resale sites like StubHub). Tickets to the White Sox series September 27-29 start at $9. Tip: buy the tickets in person at the Target Field box office to avoid paying online ticket fees. And if you go to the Tuesday, September 27 game, grab some dollar hotdogs at the last Dollar Dog night of the season.
3. Four Pack- A new deal the Twins are running- every Monday-Thursday game fans can purchase a four-pack of tickets that includes a Home Run Porch View or Field Box ticket, hot dog, pop and chips. https://www.mlb.com/twins/tickets/specials/daily-specials. Tip: if you do not get the four-pack and are still looking for discounted food and drinks, head to the Family Value section in centerfield (sections 133 and 327). A bit of a hidden gem, at this stand offers $2 cups of pop, $5 cans of beer, $4 soft pretzels and hot dogs, and $3 bags of popcorn. 
4. Fan appreciation weekend- The Angels series September 23-25 is also Fan Appreciation Weekend. The first 20,000 fans to arrive at Target Field for the Friday and Saturday games will receive a Target Field beanie, which should come in handy in 2023 when the Twins play 16 home games in April, the most of any month.

I've been to a handful of games this year but none since the all star game mainly due to my personal schedule but also due in part to the teams poor play.  I'm glad they are running extra promos to try and increase attendance.  The biggest attendance booster though is playing good sound baseball with players who appear to at least show some life.  For me being out of contention makes some difference but playing solid entertaining baseball is more important.  We've seen very little of that the past two seasons.

I love baseball and love going to games but I can honestly say I haven't been to a Twins game since 2019 and I'm glad I haven't wasted my money on the garbage Falvine has put out onto the field.

The Twins waived all online ticket fees earlier this year, but I'm not sure if that's still in effect. I get promo offers via email pretty frequently (I think I recently shut them off because it was too frequently). There were some $5 ticket deals in the Twins promo emails. I'd suggest signing up for them if you were looking for a great deal.

I'm a season ticket holder. It's a fun and entertaining venue, even if the Twins hasn't played well. I go for the game, not for the team so to speak.

They're also going to sell some tickets to hometown fans who want to see Varland and Wallner play at Target Field.

Three more games this season. Watching Ohtani and Trout on Friday and Saturday night. Then, playing hooky the last home game of the season. I don't understand the comments about bailing on attending games because they are now out of the race, etc. To each his/her own, I guess. For me, I enjoy the game itself, the sights and sounds of Target Field, and (hopefully) nice weather for outdoor baseball.

I fail to see the logic in not going to the games for the rest of the year. This is your chance! Get Dugout Box seats! Get Club Level seats! Find your favorite spots in the stadium, sample the foods, see all the parts you may have missed. Who cares if you're not watching B list pitcher or last gasp batter C get walloped and whiffed while you're up sampling some of the great food options and making discoveries?

Take a minute to have surprisingly good curry.

The games are fun to attend, the tickets are cheap, and you don't have to stay glued to the seat to "get your money's worth" If you're worried about that evil scoundrel Jim Pohlad misinterpreting missing the playoffs as a great business decision if you buy a ticket through the box office, buy the tickets off Stub Hub so Jim doesn't get your ticket money. That'll really teach him!

Mark Cuban talked about the truth of sports events. People do NOT go to watch the players or the game. They go for the experience. If you attend a baseball game and you had no fun because the Twins didn't win or you didn't see "x" player, you're going to be in the minority.

Joe Ryan vs Ohtani, that will be a great game to get to! Definitely will be better attendance than there otherwise would be with any other matchup/ opponent

I agree, even when the Twins were in the division basement last year I still went to a bunch of games and had a great time with my friends. Weather is beautiful and absolutely a great time to get some amazing seats like you mentioned (I also like those early season snow games for that too!) Looking forward to Ryan vs Ohtani this Friday!

I appreciate you looking out for me and all, but I got my money's worth for my seats this year. Season ticket holders get:
1. 15-20% off all food, drink & merchandise.*
2. Guaranteed seats, in the spot they chose, for each of their games.
3. Free season ticket holder merchandise, special prizes, etc.

*In addition, the Twins DID give season ticket holders a huge gift starting September 9th by doubling our food & drink discounts. We'll be getting 30-40% off all food and beverage purchases.

Side note, ticket prices are increasing about 12% for next year. I expect there to be a lot of discounted seats available in 2022.

Yeah  right people are going pay Major league prices to watch players they could have watched at Minor league prices.

People do not go to Twins games to watch AAA players, the Saints are there for that.

Written like a guy who hasn't bought a baseball game ticket in the last two years. I really feel like you'd be happier rooting for a different team or a different sport. Maybe soccer. They don't score much so you can be really excited about the defensive side of things?

I made it out to Minnesota in April and saw a 3 game set.  I would most definitely try to go as many of the 6 games left I could if I was anywhere close to making it manageable.  I absolutely love going to the ballpark, especially at discounted prices.  I'm not sure if they still do all the giveaways during the fan appreciation nights, but I won a really cool retro Joe Mauer jersey in one of Target Field's first years.

Edit:  I have never seen another Mauer jersey like it.  It's this one but Mauer with the 7.

Yeah, I see the 1st 20,000 get the hat.   The game I went to after every half inning they listed like 20 numbers.....I think it was seat numbers or maybe raffle tickets, but they gave away a ton of stuff.  The guy in front of me got a signed 87 World Series jersey.

Raising prices isn't going to help their falling attendance. You will see a lot of discounting to try to get people in the door. 12% is a huge increase on already expensive tickets to a half-empty stadium.
