Game Thread Twins @ Yankees 3:05 ET 9/7/22

I keep: arraez, Miranda, Duran, gray, mahle, buxton (by default) and a couple of the young pitchers. Everyone else can go.

And that includes the coaching staff. And maybe even the GMs at this point. Whole thing needs to be flushed and reset. You’re kidding if you think otherwise

The Yankees sweeping the Twins is the easiest bet you can make. Baldelli has a .182 win percentage as a Twins manager against NYY. Makes me sick.

Yup, I won all 3 bets against them in this series. At some point you'd think the sportsbooks would learn and ban betting on Twins-Yanks games until some regression finally comes...

Aw come on! We are still in second and percentage points ahead of Chicago with a loss.

Let's see. win 4 lose 6 win 5 lose 3 win 1 lose 3 and 4 more games before the Royals.

It is right in front of us.

So is death.  Hopefully much later then sooner....

Me. I think otherwise.  The majority of this club is under the age of 29.  Even if they end up at 500, it's an ~10 game improvement from last season and actually have a pitching staff in place to build upon rather than last year, where there are very few recognizable faces.

I think a team being forced to start Gordon (in the IF), Celestino, Garlick, Leon and Cave in September is decimated with injuries right now.  Having Polanco, Kepler, Buxton, Kirilloff, Jeffers and Larnach...and even Sano all out is more or less killing offensive production.

No need to flush and reset, you reset last year, build on what you have this year.

They have to play .500 ball the rest of the season to do that. Not sure they are capable at this point. I see 11- 16 which means a 6 game improvement.

Disagree.  Sano out is not repeat not killing O-production

And I didn’t even mention the coaching. And I mean the whole staff not just rocco. Everything has digressed. The fundamentals no longer exist. I don’t believe this regime (of coaches) is the one who’s going to get us over the edge. They’ve not done anything to prove it. I doubt rocco is going anywhere, and he should thank his lucky stars he plays in the central. But the others? For sure there needs to be turnover. A lot of it

Kiriloff and/or Larnach, too?

I could make a case for both of them.
