Not impressed with much about this team aside from the special teams.

Thought KOC was supposed to be an offensive whiz but so far the offense seems to have even taken a step back from last year. No idea what the deal is with Kirk, thought getting rid of zimmer would make him even better but he’s been bad Kirk for much of the year. Can’t run the ball worth a lick.

The defense is bad bad. We had trouble stopping old men Andy dalton and latavius Murray who I forgot was still in the league. A good offense will blow the doors off the this defense.

Oh well wins are hard to get and we’ll take every one we can but this appears to be a team that will only finish above .500 due to a weak schedule. Otherwise it’s more mediocrity

A lot of dropped balls by the receivers but I basically agree with everything you said here. This is the worst Vikings defense I have seen in a long time, and they go out there every week with the same plan, they play Buffalo this year. I could see a 54 -3 loss in that one.

They play buffalo AND Miami. Miami is in 2 weeks so Tua will probably be back. Very very thin defensively. This will be a typical Vikings year. Competitive enough to make the playoffs, flawed enough to not get past the first or second round. And too good to get a high draft pick.

We are the luckiest 3-1 team in football. It will get exposed soon enough. The defense ain’t it. And Kirk isn’t doing the offense any favors.

I would imagine we’ll beat the bears at home (hopefully) but then we’ll get the doors blown in at Miami. 4-2 going in to the bye

The saints D had been quite good this year....

It has been, but Cousins not only panicked  and made poor choices when he was blitzed, he also panicked and made poor choices when he thought he’d get blitzed but wasn’t.

Why does it seem Cousins can never correctly audible to a quick out pass when he sees a blitz? Decent pocket passers do it regularly (while Brady and Rodgers do it just about every time) but Cousins rarely gets it right.

The simple answer is, Cousins is not Brady or Rodgers…not even close

Anyone who expects their QB to be one of the best in history is bound for disappointment. Cousins is not ideal, but it's all about the defense for this team. It has to get better.

I don’t think anyone expects that from Cousins, I think he needs to figure out how to slow the game down so he doesn’t go into a complete panic when he smells pressure.

Im not asking him to be. He is flat out awful when blitzed. As far as passing when under pressure goes, can he at least be Andy Dalton or Joe Flacco?

Then maybe don't compare him to them?

He needs to be better, but the defense needs to be way more

Being 3-1 is nice especially with a matchup with the Bears next, but this squad doesn't look as good as they should - but there is plenty of time for improvement. It does feel like Zimmer is still coaching this team, but simply has more luck this time around... and yeah, I didn't see Cousins becoming more inaccurate and erratic when finally paired with the coach 'that would unlock his potential'.

Eh, I dunno if they'll let him be back so soon after all the backlash - but I guess if he's got CTE, it's not like waiting another week is going to fix that. I expect to see Teddy start the next couple games for them.

And with whatever happened to Harrison Smith on the last drive. That didn’t look good.

Apparently he got kicked in the groin, so methinks he'll be OK for next week. Cine, on the other hand, might have a 12+ month recovery depending on what exactly happened, but for 2022, it's not a big blow as Metellus has already shown he can be a solid backup.
