Wow! I take back half the bad things I said about them

Eh, I think the criticisms are still all fair. I'm mostly glad they won, but this looks like another season walking the .500 tightrope; they'd be better off just being bad.

The defense and Cousins need to somehow get significantly better to be a legit contender.

Lions should have punted instead of trying a long field goal. They left points on the board on their previous drive too. They handed the Vikings this win.

it’s curious that the Vikings went super young for their head coaching hire but they picked a guy who has been around forever to lead the defense. Early on it doesn’t appear that any of their defensive schemes are going to shut down too many opponents. The lions had their way with them pretty much all day.

The biggest thing going for the Vikings is their schedule. I see maybe 3-4 games the rest of the way where the Vikings will be a decided underdog. The league as a whole is pretty down this year and it goes to figure that we’re just probably mediocre or slightly better. Given the state of the NFC I can’t imagine they’d miss out on the playoffs barring a major injury.

I think with the young HC, the experienced  DC was always in the cards. Not sure the awful D is his fault; his four best players are the linebackers and the DBs and DLs have no business starting.

I think the defensive scheme sucks though. Prevent defense is basically the default call. Maybe it has to be though since the corners aren’t able to cover a turtle.

I am still stunned that the Lions fired Jim Caldwell, who had 36 wins and only one losing season (7-9) in four years, and then gave so much rope to such obviously overmatched head coaches in Patricia and Campbell (17 combined wins in 5+ seasons). Great for the rest of the NFC North but, man.

Yeah, Caldwell didn't get a fair shake (I always said the same about Wayne Fontes, who oversaw the Lions' only three year stretch above .500 in my lifetime).

I wouldn't count out Campbell yet though. They've looked like an actual NFL team all three games this year. Haven't been able to say that in a half decade.

Well both Philadelphia's and Washington's defenses were shredded by Jared Goff. I suppose they have awful defenses as well.

Washington has an abominable defense. The eagles got up big and cruised and Detroit got back in it. The lions didn’t have their best RB for most of the game on Sunday.

Cine’s leg injury must have been pretty gruesome if they weren’t showing it on TV. They were giving him oxygen on the cart too. Wish him the best.

That the first round pick is still playing special teams in week four when the secondary is this terrible doesn’t thrill me.

Dominated the first quarter, should have been up two scores. But instead the offense shot itself in the foot and now it’s tied with NO ball. Can’t be shredded by Andy bleeping dalton. Why is never easy and why can we not run the ball a lick
