2022 Vikings Regular Season Thread

The Vikings could have home field advantage as the #3 seed throughout the playoffs.  If Green Bay gets the #7 seed and beats #2 San Francisco then #1 Eagles the following week. Minnesota plays the Giants first Round, winner of Dallas/Tampa round 2, championship game vs Green Bay at home.

Yeah the odds of that happening are about 0.7% lol

Unfortunately GB winning yesterday means they still have a shot and will be amped up to play an important game next weekend. I don’t have good feelings about this one and Vegas agrees (GB -3.5 at this point). We’re a better team but outside on the road, divisional game and essentially an elimination game for GB. There was talk of AR being benched at one point. Not anymore.

SF has two very winnable games left (at LV and home vs Arizona). Vikings will have to win these next two games. Can’t finish tied with SF

Looks like we get good ol’ Jimmy and Tony on Sunday. Here’s a stat: we’re 0-3 in games called by that duo.

2017 @ Panthers - L 24-31
2018 vs. Bills - L 6-27
2022 vs. Cowboys - L 3-40

That bills game…what an unexpected beat down. When zimmer’s downfall was just getting underway

Feel terrible for the guy. He’s not gonna last long in the NFL.

Three concussions in one year. There’s gotta be some shady stuff going on within that organization. Because of that, in combination with the way Tyreek Hill defamed the Chiefs after being traded, I hope the Dolphins miss the playoffs.

I wouldn’t be so quick to make those claims. The Vikings have a 3 concussions in one month player too in Akayleb Evans. That’s the nature of football. Tua is a smaller, scrambling QB. He was never going to have a long NFL career.

And as terrible as it is to say, I'd think hiding a concussion would get easier for the player with more practice. Tua needs to just start saying "I'm not OK". Surely there's some folks in the organization who are old school and would like him to keep his mouth shut, but those people have zero recourse if a player speaks up for himself here in 2022.

As with another poster, I don't go with the "shady" angle, but I have to say that the first two of those three interceptions left me saying "get him out of there, he's compromised," and the third interception looked even worse.  I'm sure he was telling them on the sideline "I'm fine" and I wouldn't want a player who didn't want to stay in, plus QBs can have bad luck with interceptions, but those throws looked super odd on TV. and if I could see it I don't know why the team couldn't. Not shady, just an abdication of responsibility to their player on a human level. A boxing ref would have stopped the fight sooner.

We all know the NFL doesn't give a rip about the players, this is just another example, I agree.
