Nice of you two to come in here and troll the thread.

Fair observation.  It's been a few years since I paid close attention.  I got roped into a fantasy league this year with some cousins, and that totally warps how one follows the action.  I still root for the Vikings, but I should probably keep my nose outta here unless I watch the game.

If anything good came from this loss, it’s that I’m kind of glad that Cousins touchdown streak ended. Maybe now Paul Allen can relax. ?

Anyway, on to the next.

The only good thing to come out of it is that I can now fully expect to be bounced right out of the playoffs. It makes taking the loss easier when you don’t have false hope.

Yeah, can’t disagree. I’m hoping the Vikings can somehow adjust. We shall see how this plays out.

If I don’t see it posted elsewhere, i am planning to look up the worst regular season losses by teams that eventually went to the Super Bowl. I’m betting that no team has ever lost a game by this many points and then went to the Super Bowl that season. A team completely dressed down like this just isn’t good enough. Like you said, expectations should be somewhat checked now.

The #2 two seed not getting a bye is going to hurt, too. Unless the 49ers make a charge, the Vikings are still the inside track for that.

The 1976 Raiders, 1994 San Francisco 49ers and 2020 Tampa Bucs all lost a game by 30+ points and went on to win the super bowl.

There’s no sugar coating what happened yesterday. It was an embarrassing game. Frankly, it was the perfect storm for an embarrassing performance:

- Darrisaw and Cleveland getting knocked out of the game exposing what we all knew - OL depth is non existent.

- Coming off the most emotionally draining game of the year.

- Tomlinson still out at DT, and Dantzler/Evans out at CB.

We weren’t going to finish the season 16-1. More losses will happen before the end of the season. Doesn’t change the fact that the Vikes have the division locked up and the NFC is wide open for the taking.

Thanks for looking that up! I always felt like the 1994 49ers were legit one of the best teams in history, and they lost a game 40-8 that year. That actually does give me some consolation about the game yesterday.

Unfortunately no one is going to confuse our cornerbacks with Deion sanders

I was going to watch the game as I happy when Minnesota beats Dallas but now I am glad I could not.

Write up on the game all, that I read, that the one point wins made the 8-1 record very, very suspect and this game showed why.

Que sera, sera.

I think their OL issues are going to doom them this week.

By all rights it should. This will be the coaching staff's biggest test; can they game-plan around the weakness that doomed them last week.

Going against the greatest game-planner in league history, it seems doubtful.
