Jim Kaat’s last broadcast

Sep 30, 1967, Twins vs Red Sox in effective playoff for AL pennant. Jim Kaat had the Sox's number and then his arm went out and that was it for the Twins chance at a World Series 2 years after they were in it against the Koufax Dodgers. Sorry I didn't get to hear him more on the air but his experience and dry sense of humor made a great combination. Needless to say, his era is long gone when a complete game was the goal of every starter and he was not satisfied with less. Watched that game with my college room mate who was an ardent Red Sox fan. Hard to take.

Great connection to past decades of baseball and could really describe parallels in today’s game to those of years gone by…….also, pointed out the stark changes in the game.

Great demeanor - fun perspective - storyteller -  ALL CLASS!!

26 years on the field & 40 years in the booth with a couple years coaching in there…….what a great ambassador of the American Passtime.

I could not say it any better than that.
