Low expectations for Sanchez coming in and he’s still mildly disappointing. 5 for his last 29, 8 k’s, 5 RBI

So much for extra playing time giving him more rhythm.

Using Duran in a tie game on the road in the 8th. I don’t know about that, man. Not the worst decision in the world, I just wish we didn’t have to

Lots of days off lately, and another one Thursday. He could pitch both days

True, hasn’t pitched since Saturday too. Two innings basically takes him out for tomorrow though, and this is a tie, not a lead

Miami might be open to trading Pablo Lopez for some hitting. Would you trade Miranda for him?

Heck no! We can talk about moving Steer and/or Wallner, but Miranda's an everyday hitter in this lineup and we need him if we're going to make any sort of playoff run. There is no need to rob Peter to pay Paul when we have prospects we could give up.

I never understand the reason for granting a time out to the batter after the pitcher is set, no matter how long he takes then. Batter ready. Pitcher set. No reason at all for the batter to get a timeout. They just want to disrupt and avoid the intensity. Batters just being a wimp.

Contact schmontact…actual hits are what matter

back at me, eh? can't resist.

A lights out closer is more untouchable. Ball moves more.

Contact grounder gets baserunners to second and third. No hit. Runners still advance... both in scoring position.

Contact matters.

I read it as they want major league ready. Guess it depends what Miami wants doesn't it?

Definitely feels like hitters are starting to figure out Duran... we'll have to see if he adjusts.

Already 23 pitches…burned the “closer” in the 8th. I guess duff man would get the 9th if we get through this and take the lead
