Game Thread: Twins @ Guardians, noon:10 cdt, 0th July 2022ad

Things to think about:

0: Thinking. What is it? Are you doing it now? Good for you! It's important. "It seperates us from people who like "Love Song" (great book, dumb title)"* Alas, i like to just pop references in lieu of thinking too often. And i apologize if today is no different.

0: Counting. Some things do, some things don't. Then there is the counter thought: does a counter count? I don't know. Today i'm only a Duke.

1: "I want my Johnson."** This is Wes's final game, right? I will sure miss him. If anyone feels like writing up an homage or other tribute to his wokr here, go for it.

2: Alternating Currently. It seems we win a game. Then they win a game. While it is most considerate of the two teams to take turns, i am torn. Break the cycle. Whether that means going to Direct Current, or 3 phase, i am not wise enough to say.Just not today, as it is our turn.

5*****: Baselines, and the importance of staying in them. Yes it can get monotonous (like Pachabel's Canon) but modern baselines tend to be a bit more lively.

Does that mean i should start over? But the game is almost upon us. Cheif would be sad already that it isn't up 2 hours early....

Oh well.

Sample-

I'm pleased to see you're still thinking about things to think about. Not thinking about stuff is nonsensical, though some prefer it because it's easier than thinking. Why that should be I don't know... have to think about that but I suspect it has something to do with the Dunning-Kruger Effect.

I like the lineup. I like that the Twins have done well in getaway games and after tough losses. I don't like that they are facing Bieber and that Cleveland has won two of four with virtually nothing from their MVP candidate.

Something to think about? Hmmm...this will sound juvenile but I've added to the complication:

Would that Chuck Wood the woodchuck could chuck wood, how much wood would Chuck Wood the woodchuck chuck?

And if I guess right, do the Twins score 4 in the first inning?

Wood chucks are psychic. They pick up human brainwaves. So if you have one burrowing under your house, you can't think about it otherwise he'll know you're there and stay hidden. But if you can clear your mind of all thoughts you can sneak up on him and blast him away with your AR-15.

It's a little known fact that there are no wood chucks living under politicians' homes.

In my opinion...this is a "statement" game. We need to kick some Guardian a** today. Show them what we're made of. We can't let them win the finale and take the series. We can beat Beebs. Get out in front early, score some runs, and take the last game.

Famous last words, but I like this lineup with Miranda and Kirilloff in the 5 and 6 slots ahead of Sanchez and Urshela. I'd like to keep it that way. What I'd really like to see is Arraez, Buxton, Correa and Polanco in slots 1-4 in some order, Kirilloff 5, Miranda 6,  Kepler 7, with the catcher and Urshela or Celestino 8 and 9. Let's give Miranda and Kirilloff a 3-4 week run in the middle of the order and see if they produce.

I can get behind a Miranda/Kiriloff 3/4 when either Buxton or Correa aren't both in the lineup.  That could be a lot of fun.
