I'm curious who goes down when Megill/Winder are back. Alcala too eventually, hopefully. The three obvious canidates are Devin Smeltzer, Tyler Duffey, and Dylan Bundy, but I would be surprised if the Twins cut bait on two of these three, let alone all 3. My guess is Smeltzer goes down when Winder is back, and someone else will likely be headed to the shelf whenever Megill is back a week from now.

I think you nailed it. Duffey and Bundy’s days are probably numbered here in Minnesota. Smeltzer has been a very pleasant surprise, but I am concerned it’s not sustainable.

Fun fact, the Twins lead the AL in average with runners on base. 3rd in AL in average with runners in scoring position. They are far from a below average offense.

Can you please provide the breakdown vs teams below .500 vs above.500? Asking for so many Twin fans

No. That’s not readily available stats that FanGraphs or baseball reference cares about.

They’re Top 5 in the AL in Runs Scored, OBP, SLG, OPS, and wRC+.

Please explain how they’re “well below average”

They've been shut out 9 times, and held to 3 runs or less THIRTY FIVE (35) times. Horrific.

They've exploded for 11 runs, 12 runs, 10 runs every blue moon and that's inflating the stats.

They’ve been hit with several injuries as well. Thirty five isn’t that big of a number when it’s only half of the time. That’s not as big of a problem as it was last year when at one point that was happening two-thirds of the time.
