Article: Twins Minor League Report: Highlights Galore!

I wonder if Madison Boer's future might be as a reliever. He seems to be very inconsistent as a starter and if I remember correctly, he was a shutdown closer after he signed. I know it's still early in his professional career, but it's probably something to keep in mind.

I'd personally move him to the bullpen now. He just hasn't been a good starter at all since signing. He has some good stuff, but I agree that the move to the bullpen should happen now.

3 stars: Colabello - 3rd star; Beresford - 2nd star; Meyer - No. 1 star. I'm putting Beresford on my watch list.

I've really liked Beresford as a player since seeing him in Beloit in 2010. Tremendous glove around the infield. He's a singles hitter, so he may never have a huge OPS, but he's just a solid performer!

I suppose its too early to start calling for guys to be called up...but man...I really want to.

The start of this year could not be going any better!

Bummer that Boer can't start, it does make me wonder who/when a pitcher from CR gets sent to Fort Myers.

First -- this is such a joy to read -- the setup then the results. Seth is an amazing writer.

Second, this is 100% less depressing than last night's report. I am thrilled that Rochester finally won for a change, and there was a lot of icing on that cake.

Agreed, Seth. Move Boer back to the pen, and move him up the organization. It's time.

I agree with moving him to the bullpen... I wouldn't move him up yet though... I'd like to see him with any measure of success at Ft. Myers before thinking he could succeed, even out of the 'pen, in New Britain.

Buxton triple slash- .476/.560/.714

Of all the many exciting stats put up by the Twins' young prospects thus far, the one I am most excited about is Buxton's 14% walk rate. I really had no idea what to expect vis a vis his plate discipline. The small sample from this season gives me a lot of hope that we'll see that speed on the bases.

i was not clear, I would not move him up now either. I was trying, badly, to say that he could move up as a reliever, but not as a starter. That's what happens when I type on my phone.....

What kind of prospect is Antoan Richardson going to be? I had noticed his stolen bases already when glancing through stuff, but I honestly had never even heard of him before. Just looking at his numbers and his physical size (5'8", 165 lbs.) I would assume he'd be in the vein of Revere or Mastroianni? Does he look to have that kind of potential?

He also has a pretty good bb/k ratio of 7/9. I'm all for moving up Buxton when the time is right but like a lot of people I don't think that is till the all star break. Also, his sb/cs ratio is pretty poor at 5/3. A player with his speed shouldn't be caught at that high of clip.

He's 29 years old, or so. He's had a couple of brief cups of coffee in the big leagues. He was playing independent league ball a couple of years ago. Similar player to Revere (including size), but he's older, so he kind of is what he is.
