So there’s 5 catchers listed in Wichita

Scouting the stats Alex Isola is having himself a season! .848 OPS with 5 homers in 30 games so far for Wichita as a 23 year old. He’s playing some 1B and DH too, but I suppose w/ 5 Cs ya gotta get innings somehow

Pretty much everyone else looks mid 20s journeyman-like at Windsurge and Saints.

I think giving up Garver is a big mistake.

I agree, but the Rangers have actually stopped using him as a catcher since he got injured May 8th, and it's possible that his catching days are over - at least, as a primary catcher. But we could really use his bat right now.

I just looked up the standings. How the hell are the Twins 5 full games (as of now) ahead of second place Chicago?

This entire division should be contracted.

Relegation to begin in 2023 a mlb source confirmed today

I am totally a Garvsauce fan, but he's 31 and hitting .232/.307/.446 and has only caught 14 games this season.

Compare that to Sanchez who is 29 and hitting .236/.297/.457 while catching 21 games.

Neither is the long term answer but 2019 Garv is looking more and more like a blip than the norm.

Though Garv is still a very good hitter, not so much value as a DH

Met up with my White Sox fan tennis partner today;  he went on and on about all their injuries (Tim Anderson, etc.) and about how we’d gain more ground on them.  I informed him that we were in the same boat.

18 consecutive scoreless innings for the hometown 9.

This fallow fellow 18 is cold...cruel...a cosmic jokester, mocking our heros and we too.....Strike then the foul beastial stick and snowman from all things Twins---no player shall don the threads bearing its sullen presence, no fan to plant cheeks in any seat so marked, no ticket bearing this caustic symbol of failure sold until the veil is lifted, and the curse, like the scapegoat, is banished forever to the desert wasteland of shadow and blight...until that day of days......when the playoff is won, or the other loses, no matter, its all the same, one wins because one loses, but not to one plus seventeen or beyond....such a thing is unimagineable, impenetrable, unspeakable, no logic can shape what lies beneath this......only in its vanquishing and then and only then ought that number which shall not be counted be allowed into speech and hearing. Until that day of days, our eyes should divert and ears shall close at its mentioning, for the shame is too great to bear.
