Of course...it's Wednesday!

I'm hoping that you know what that's supposed to mean, because I don't...

I do in fact, even if i don't recall how to type small.

"It's Wednesday" is what the soldiers say in The Adventures of Baron Munchhausen  (at least the Gilliam version) as a reason for taking time off from guard duty to watch the game on youtube. That was the age of Reason.

And Mudder's day is a riff on an old Abbott and Costello routine.

National Wine Day, you say?

Well then, I should go down to the basement later and pick from the many options. Also, I guess, make decent dinner to go with the wine.

I was thinking the same thing.  Problem being, I have too many leftovers to make something new.  And I really should eat a brat.  I bet I've got something that'll work.

Patience is a virtue...

Or so i have been told.

So cord cutting is a thing?

I can tell people my folks were cord cutters before it was cool?

(PS. I still get ads on Twins Daily despite giving up my old timey member monicker)

Screenshot and PM it to me. And next time ads appear, right click "View as source" and save it to your desktop. Email it to brock.beauchamp@twinsdaily.com.

I've been trying to replicate this issue and simply cannot make ads appear under any caretaker account.

It could be. That woulda been clever or something.

No. I grew up with out a tv. So i listened to the 87 world series on the radio, or watched at a neighbor's place.

I grew up cable-less, so Herb Carneal and John Gordon were the soundtrack of my childhood summers. I remember getting to stay up late for Game 6 of the '91 WS because it wasn't a school night

My first cord was cut over 69 years ago and my second cord was cut 30 years ago. It's why I'm enjoying the YouTube broadcast today .

Yeah, Wills do, though it will involve learning to screen capture. it isn't very common. And in this case it came up on the first view of the thread and is 't there now.

But it was one of them cool ads that stay put as you scroll past, and there were others in the intermittent places.

Okay, so it's happening on your phone? Does it ever happen on desktop?

That's not as cool as those ads that cover the "Submit Reply" button, stay fixed over it and can't be closed.  Those are the coolest!

Oooo, do tell!

Good friends coming for wood-fired pizza tonight and he's a wine buddy, 2015 Domaine Drouhin "Edition Limitee" pinot noir is getting ready and smelling better by the hour. Perhaps I'll have to taste a bit this afternoon to make sure... He's bringing a couple of heavier reds to complement.

Just checked the radar again, and we might get lucky and get the game in. It might spit a bit from time to time, but there's a break for a while. It's pretty cool and windy though...only around 50 degrees. Pop ups might be an adventure. Let's hope Bundy has a decent outing.

They still make Boone's Farm? I remember that as the cheap drunk of my youth.

Sure do!

Quasi-related: I once made a comment along the lines of, "Hardees is like the Jordache jeans of fast food. Used to be big back in the '80s and now you're surprised when you still see one."

That line probably still holds true, you just have to know what Hardees and Jordache jeans are!  Both are rare in the wild these days.
