What he said was still true about the managing decisions.

I wouldn’t have left Cano out to dry as long as he did. But he made the correct call leaving Garlick in to hit the momentum shifting HR. Pinch hitting Correa (not for Celestino), and pinch hitting Urshela for the game winning hit.

What makes Duran special to me is that he is so often in the zone. Today he threw 17 pitches and 14 were strikes.

This guy HAS to be the closer. Sure, he's somewhat raw and he'll have some hiccups and blown saves along the way, but you can't teach what he's got. In the big picture, he's the one.

Hindsight is 20/20 but that was still a head scratcher. Cano shouldn't have been left in.

I believe the comment (not mine) I was supporting was made in real time, and not a hindsight thing.

Nope. Not if they win. If they lose because of the manager, they win because of the manager :)

I disagree in this case. Cano comes in in the 6th and first three hitters reach, now it’s 2-0, 2 on and nobody out. He needs to pull Cano but his analytics tell him he’s gonna lose this one anyway so he leaves Cano in. They are behind 6-0 because of that decision.  The offense comes back in the 8th and 9th without the managers help, partly because “it’s Buxtons day off” and he is “unavailable”.

At least they got 2 borderline calls in the 9th, on Merrifield on that low call for strike 3 and the check swing third strike on Dozier.

It evened out, doesn’t always, the Arraez ab was blatant, almost seemed like the ump was gunning for Arraez

Whole chicken in smoker (hickory or mesquite) is way to go

Can't argue with that. But firing up the old charcoal grill and throwing on some chicken thighs with a sprinkling of Morton's SeasonAll.... that with a few beers on a Sunday afternoon in the summer is nirvana.

No doubt. Next question is: What's your beer of preference? Leinenkugel man myself(All their varities).

Today was Surly Coffee Bender. When feeling bitter, I go for Furious. When feeling nostalgic, Summit EPA. When going out of state, Deschutes Fresh Squeezed.

My dad used to drive a long way to get Leines.  I have to say that when parched on a hot day, a Summer Shandy, really goes down well.

You are 100% correct. They won despite Rocco, not because of him. Rocco had conceded that game by leaving Cano in to get shelled but the offense bailed him out.

Fantastic win from the boys! Loving the down but never out attitude from us so far. Now 5 games ahead in the division. Love love love it!

4.5 games at the moment, Chicago won and if they win again tonight it will be 4.

Sorry ... we will just have to disagree ... you saw his sheet? The analytics said 'You're gonna lose so forget it' ... that's what you're saying? Yeah ... I don't buy it.

It’s called win expectancy, it’s a percentage, and it’s a real thing, and I would be willing to bet that Rocco knew  exactly what his win expectancy was in the 6th inning with 2 on and nobody out and being down 2 runs
