While I don't have much confidence in anyone in the pen, that's awfully knee-jerk to get someone up after the double.

No one in this bullpen should get any benefit of the doubt right now. If someone is off they should get yanked quickly. Pagan was off and got insanely lucky. Rocco sitting around doing nothing as usual

When is Duran going to be named closer

Probably once he gets his ERA under 5.00!

For whatever reason, Rocco has never trusted younger guys closing, so it's who knows when. Kind of an odd thing for a hyper-analytical manager, I know.

Age is one of the more quantifiable notions in the sabrmetric arsenal. :)

Sanchez getting scratched tonight won us that game.

Had he not blocked those pitches it would have been his error, there is almost no way they could not be blocked.

Problem for him and Sanchez, if they keep doing that knee thing, had the batter been a on the other side and the pitch on the other side, there is zero way it would have been blocked.

His double made huge difference, but as it is -  Sanchez  is at .216 with 8 rbi and Jeffers is at .152 with 0 rbi.

Besides being a rookie, he’s new to relief pitching and coming off a season where he didn’t throw 20 innings. He definitely has the best stuff in the BP, perhaps the best stuff a Twins pitcher ever displayed, but we don’t know his arm will bounce back. We don’t know if he can maintain the sharpness and finally, we don’t know how he’ll handle the pressure. I think they will work him toward closing, perhaps he might get a chance with Pagán likely not available tomorrow.
