Are you saying that Doogie has inside sources with the Twins?  I call bull......

I'm saying Doogie is a professional reporter who has legitimate sources. Go ahead and call bull, I actually speak to people "in the know" on literally a daily basis and never once have I heard them speak ill of Doogie.

And trust me, I've heard ill spoken of more than a few people over the years.

Let’s say that it winds up being nothing.  What kind of mental state is Buxton in that he is assuming on any slightly unusual play that he is completely out of commission and “it happened again”?  That’s not a great place to be in, especially as one of the elite talents in all of the game.

There are times where something goes wrong in my body and I’m like “*** THIS IS IT”. Later, it’s just… gone, way less severe than it felt in the moment.

Given the fact how much Buxton is a gamer, loves the sport, has a storied injury history, and literally signed to be a Twin for life to prove himself, I’m not surprised he was royally pissed off in the moment.

As a competitor, and especially as one as competitive as he seems to be, I'd be royally pissed off too.  That has to be frustrating that the will has the drive but the body simply doesn't cooperate.

Repeat what I said in the post-game thread, I think his "ground pound" was as much frustration as pain. He walked off with nothing resembling a limp from what I saw. I think/hope it was just a tweak and he'll be fine.

Are you a real doctor?

When I saw this happen, I thought torn ACL. His. Reaction said

it all.  Not the time to say this, but if he’d run hard through the play, the injury probably wouldn’t have happened. Despite that being said, I love Buck.

Sorry, no. I'm reported to be highly intelligent and wise and talented and filled with general knowledge regarding basic physiology as well as sociological and psychological insight,  but those reports come from myself and people who like me. LOL! I also hold a Masters in BS from a long line of family members who have similar degrees.

I also like to poke fun at myself. :)

"Doc" is a nickname I earned from a teacher many, many years ago because I was a budding young writer.

But I would like to defy hubris and state that I think I am actually kinda smart. [Wink]

Thanks for asking!

If you're not a real Doc, why the Rx ball? Isn't that doubling down on a misconception?

I spilled out on the ice this winter and landed awkwardly.   As I was sprawled on the ground in pain I was thinking ok, that's it.   Surgery, crutches, rehab, lost golf season.    A week later I couldn't remember for sure which leg was in pain.    Bux landed awkwardly   had some pain and probably thought it was worse that it was.     I was worried but encouraged with how easily he walked off the field.   I am betting they keep him out tomorrow and Sunday.    Just guessing.

I also am no doctor, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night. So my unfortunate, yet now sadly qualified, diagnosis is a partial ACL tear.

I am praying I’m wrong.  Buck is an unbelievably exciting, talented baseball player. I’ve found myself through the start of this young season doing all I can to make sure I see every one of his at bats.

I love Doogie on SkorNorth.  He knows his stuff.  BTW Mackey & Judd >>>>> than anyone on Kfan.

I can understand why Barreiro and Common Man are popular, although Common would be better with only a two-hour show, but never understood how the morning schedule dominated any sports competition so much.

Hopefully, this will just be a tweak that will work itself out quickly.  I love (OK I don't) when you see twitter comments or Strib comments when someone is injured assuming that they themselves would be able to play through it no matter what the pain as they sit on their couch.
