Where Are They Now? Our Former TWINS

JAKE REED joins his third organization this year. WIll he get major league innings with the Orioles, like he did from the Mets and Dodgers?

He was a fifth round pick by the Twins in 2014. Had a good season, but didn't get the 40-man add and became a minor league free agent.

YENNIER CANO got a one game call-up by the Orioles and pitched badly.

BEN RORTVEDT was called up by the Yankees (after spending a good aprt of the season on the IL-list) but was optioned back out with no plate appearances.

BRENT ROOKER had a short stay with the Royals. Not much of a major league season for the former Twins power-hitting propect.

And JUAN MINAYA was released from St. Paul, but quickly resigned by the Twins on September 7th, and then somehow ended up on the roster of the Rochester Red Wings, which is now the AAA team of the Nationals. Go figure. After three seasons, Juan escapes the Twins.

Zach littell demoted to AAA after exchanging words with Gabe kapler when he was taken out of the game. Give him credit, though, as he did not buck the ball over the center field wall.

Kapler started out tactful in his remarks on the subject, then became increasingly pointed.

The Yankees are adding the final piece they need for playoff victory! CHI CHI GONZALEZ was called up to the team (bypassing former Twin Tyler Duffey).

Well, Chi Chi got at least a day in a Yankees uniform.

A few updates:
Nick Anderson outrighted

Prelander Berroa selected by Mariners (part of Dyson trade, Giants traded him to Seattle)

Michael Tonkin selected by Braves (despite the fact that he's 33 and hasn't pitched in the majors since 2017!)

Drew Strotman claimed on waivers by Giants

NICK ANDERSON, who thrived in the Twins system but was "allowed" to depart, finding some success before being in jured all last season, has signed a split contract (and got a 40-man roster spot) with the Braves.

LEWIN DIAZ grabbed by the Orioles. The former Twins 1st base prospect ahs bounced around a bit since he was traded for Sergio Romo.

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/12/orioles-claim-lewin-diaz-waivers-pirates.html

Tha meant the Orioles tried to sneak JAKE CAVE thru waivers, and he was claimed by the Phillies.

And people have talked about the Mariners being a trade partner for the Twins, if we wanted to part with, say, Polanco. They, instead, traded for KOLTON WONG from the Brewers.

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/12/brewers-trade-kolten-wong-mariners-jesse-winker-abraham-toro.html

Wong, longtime Twins fans will remember, was drafted by the Twins in the 16th-round of the 2008 draft, but didn't sign.
