Miami is not doing that bad. 32-38. The problem is that in spite of being a fan favorite he's a marginal baseball player, he's not physically fit, and he'll be 31 in October. I don't think any contending team would have a spot for him and rebuilding teams won't spend their resources on him.

That is exactly right!  I am sure Williams is a great guy.  But if you plan on contending he better not be on your roster.

So they take a guy who is batting .194 with six hits for a guy who is batting..270 with 10 hits and home run in a similar number of at bats?

Miguel Rojas hurt his foot yesterday. They have no other SS on the team, as they don't want to move Chisholm over there. That's why they made the move.

IAN GIBAUT got a brief callup by the Indians, pitching even against the Twins, before heading back to the minors.

Blue Jays purchased the contract of SHAUN ANDESON, pitched him in a game, and replaced him by signing SERGIO ROMO, earlier released by Seattle.

EDDIE ROSARIO is beinging a rehab assignment after missing half-the-season with the Braves. KYLE BARRACLOUGH was designed for assignment and could become a free agent.

SEAN POPPEN played the up-and-down game with the Diamondbacks.

ZACH LITTELL hit some bad innings and was demoted by the Giants.

Chris Mazza, who the Twins released back in 2015, and the Rays let go last week, has signed with the Mariners.

Lots of former ex-Twins looking for work.

IAN GUBAUT works the popularity circuit, going from the Indians to the Dodgers and now stopping off in Reds land.

SHAUN ANDERSON given walking papers by Blue Kays.

Sam Clay joins the Phillies.

In the Atlantic League, RYNE HARPER has been released by Kentucky, and JOHNNY FIELD announced his retirement from baseball after siging with High Point earlier this year.

And inn other former Twins news: TYLER KINNEY. In other Rockies news, the team informed reporters that reliever Tyler Kinley underwent successful elbow surgery recently (Allentuck link). He’s expected to be sidelined roughly one calendar year. Colorado announced that Kinley would require a season-ending procedure in mid-June, but the team didn’t specify whether he’d need a full Tommy John procedure or a less invasive surgery. The one-year timeline would seem to point towards the latter outcome, although he’s apparently still unlikely to be back on an MLB mound much before next season’s All-Star Break.

Repoorted on MLBtraderumors...MITCH GARVER is out for the rest of the season.

  • Last night, the Rangers transferred catcher/designated hitter Mitch Garver from the 10-day to the 60-day injured list. That’s not a surprise, as he’ll miss the rest of the season after undergoing season-ending surgery to repair the injured flexor tendon in his forearm. The move freed a spot on Texas’ 40-man roster, which Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News suggests (on Twitter) is likely to go to reliever Jonathan Hernández. The right-hander hasn’t pitched in the majors since undergoing Tommy John surgery in April 2021, but he’s been on a rehab stint at Triple-A Round Rock for the past month and a half. Grant notes that his allotted rehab window wraps up tomorrow, meaning he’ll have to be reinstated from the 60-day IL or shut down from his rehab entirely. The former seems likelier, as manager Chris Woodward suggested Hernández should be back with the big league club soon.

TYLER CLIPPARD is getting the call by the Nationals. He pitched for the Nats in parts of 7 of his 15 Big League seasons. Pitched for the Twins in 2020, one of ten teams that have rostered him.

Dodgers sign HANSEL ROBLES to a minor league contract. Amazed the Twins missed this one.

Twins actually need a pitcher who can pitch in big situations.  The dodgers already have good pitchers, they probably just need someone sit on the bullpen bench for their AAA team.
