It's almost, like the article was stating, as much good for the Reds for not suppressing service time.  Hopefully the kid has a great career.  But Greene has done as much in the majors as Lewis has.  I say, give it 3 years.  Let each get some MLB experience and then see who made the better selection.  If both pan out, I would still have drafted Lewis because he plays everyday.

It will be really interesting to see how Greene does, that's for sure. I hope he does well, and that Lewis does a lot better.

I have a good friend who was a Cubs fan who spent three years laughing at me because the Twins were such idiots to pick Mauer over Mark Prior. Then he spent ten years telling me how wrong he had been.

The Reds are a team that just jettisoned quite a bit of talent.  I'm happy for him and hope that he does well, but there's context to this.  And it's far too early to be judging or second guessing how Lewis vs Greene debate turns out.

This makes me wonder if the Reds aren't just doing a reload rather than a rebuild.

They've definitely shed salary, and losing Gray hurts, but Winker seemed overrated and Suarez looked cooked. Amir Garrett for Mike Minor seemed like a good swap too. They've still got some good players and a top prospect like Greene.
