MLB.com prospect list

MLB.com released their new prospect list for 2022.  I am always curious about these lists.  Royce Lewis is our top member of the list at 46 and I cannot figure out why.  Let's hope he really takes off this year.  Bobby Witt of KC is the number one on the list and their next listing is 51, a catcher, Then they have 62 a first baseman, 72 a left handed pitcher is the last one listed.  Why do I care - they are our competition and they are improving.  They just signed Greinke and have seen some growth so we need to care about them.

The same with Detroit which has Spencer Torkelson at 4 and Riley Green at 5.  Jobe, a right handed pitcher is 40,   With all the young players they have promoted the last few years and their FA - this is a team that worries me the most in the future.

Cleveland's highest is OF Valera at 47 right behind Lewis. PItcher Espino is 53, Infielder Arias is 73, other infielders are 84 and 88.  That is a good list for them.

The White Sox are on top, but will fall hard in a few years because they have zero on the list.

To finish Minnesota's rankings we have Austin Martin 52, Jose Miranda 95 and Joe Ryan 97.

Thanks for looking all this up. But I'm not sure this comment about the White Sox is true - they've proven to be active players in the free agent market. Wise and robust spending can plug a lot of prospect gaps.

It worked when they had Roberts, Anderson, Mercedes, Jiminez, Giolito as a base before the FA brought them to the top.  You need to create a talent level where FA can lift you.
