So is Baxendale, 2.2IP 1H 0BB 4k

Final line for Baxendale: 5.1IP 2H 1BB 8K

Caught a little of the radio broadcast. The announcers said his fastball was hitting the low to mid 90s and his slider/curve was racking up strikeouts anywhere from 79-69 MPH.

Nice outing by Baxendale! Mid-90's FB with nice secondary stuff? Sounds like a nice arm! He is giving me another reason to follow this team.

They did say he was over-throwing a bit to hit the mid 90s. He's probably more of an upper 80s to lower 90s guy. But it sounds like his secondary stuff was working and he's definitely one to watch; John Sickels had him as one of his sleeper prospects this year.

In AAA, Chris Colabello continues to be a hero with a 9th inning go-ahead HR (3rd on the year already)

As purely a hypothetical at this point because in reality we're no where close to this:

If Baxendale (or any of last years relievers turned starters) puts together another 6-8 nice starts like this do the Twins bump him up a level or because this is his first year starting does he get held back to work on that 3rd (or 4th) pitch in a lower level?

Baxendale apparently already had 4 pitches, so in his case, there's no reason to hold him back if he dominates the high A competition.

In general, college pitchers can move fast if they do well, and I would think the Twins would do so. They may have a limit on how many pitches they want them throwing over the course of the season though.
