EX-TWINS IN 2022: Where Are They Now?

Yep, ALEX COLOME goes to Colorado. I wonder how he will do in Coors Feild.

What I most feel bad about, besides the lack of interest in Alex at the trade deadline, is that the Twins kep him on as the closer rather than try anyone or anyone else who would probably be around for 2022 or even years to come. It was their opportunity to look at internal options, perhaps, and also to allow some players to walk....instead they brought up a bunch of also rans who failed to stick around when the fall off-season roster cuts started.

EDDIE ROSARIO returns to the Braves on a two-year $18 million contract.

We know the Twins didn't want to pay Eddie that yearly figure in arbitration and he signed last season for less with the Indians. But, longterm, wonder.....

Who is in left field?

Well, Larnach, Rooker and Celestino all got looks last year, although none of them did that well. Do remember a lot if good players scuffle in their first exposure to the big leagues.

If he’s not needed at first, Kirilloff looks like a keeper. Down the road, either Martin or Lewis could end up in left field and be able to play center to back up Buxton. Wallner also could figure in by the end of the year.

LUKE RALEY, who the Twins got in the Dozier trade and who played for Rochester in 2018-19, only to be traded back to the Dodgers along with Brusdar Graterol for Maeda and Jair Camargo in 2020, is traded to the Tampa Bay Rays.

TYLER ANDERSON, a former (unsigned) 2008 draftee, was signed by the Dodgers.

Meanwhile, instead of pursuing perhaps the above mentioned left-hander, the Twins signed CHI CHI GONZALEZ to a minor leage deal (thankfully not a 40-man spot) based, on part, to fond memories when our front office worked elsewhere.
