Garcia outrighted to St Paul

Or Ryan to start tomorrow.

Yeah, that would be my guess. Wednesday's starter is still TBD, and presumably if they were going to use Albers again they would have just announced it already.

So best guess is that Joe Ryan will be recalled to start when rosters expand Wednesday, taking the 40-man spot vacated by Garcia here.

And then on Friday, when Dobnak is activated from the 60-day IL to start, they will transfer Maeda to the 60-day IL to make room.

Today and tomorrow were also TBD for the Saints when I put up my poll re Sept 1 call ups, but now I see they have Jason Garcia (call up from Witchita and not to be confused with the Garcia of this thread) slotted for today (it was Ryan, when I looked last week, I think) and Ryan for Wednesday. Hmmm ...

Ryan starting for the saints? I can't even begin to tell you how disappointed that would make me in this front office.

Doesn't mean that he will start for the Saints Wednesday ... but is lined up to pitch Wednesday ... could be they are just going about 'business as usual' to make an announcement for Wednesday? (That's my spin and my hope, anyway)

Interesting info, thanks.

The one thing that gives me hope is that Jason Garcia is new to the Saints, and not a regular starter -- he's been coming out of the pen for Wichita this month.

Joe Ryan could have easily started for the Saints today (Aug. 31) -- actually it was his "normal rest" day yesterday, but the Saints were off. So the Saints went out of their way to push Ryan back to Sep. 1st, the roster expansion date. And of course, the Twins starter Wednesday is still TBD.

Of course, a slight complication is that the Twins are at home and the Saints are in Columbus this week, so it's not as easy as hopping the light rail.

Yep. I had been watching what the Saints were doing. Last week I was sure I saw Ryan in to pitch today, then both today and tomorrow were tbd, when I put together my poll, and now they have Jason today (who was called up from Witchita ... yesterday? - I think I read that in yesterday's Minor League report), and Ryan tomorrow ... so that was a big 'hmmmm' for me ... would love to get a glimpse of the travel manifest to see if Ryan is really on it ... oh the intrigue!!! :)
