Kirilloff Having Wrist Surgery

The most important thing at this point is to get him 100% healthy and ready to go for 2022, building on this year.

IIRC, this injury is different from the previous wrist injury he suffered in milb, or the other wrist, or both. So the belief/hope is that this is unfortunate but not chronic.

From what I've read, it's the very same wrist injury, he just hasn't been able to play effectively through it and the Twins expect his season is done. Better to address it now than risk it getting worse, especially considering the season is done.

I've wondered about Kirilloff and Larnach playing instead of Sanó for the past several weeks. I wonder if Rocco knew he wasn't going to have Alex for more than a few weeks and that contributed to the distribution of playing time. Sanó will get plenty of at-bats the rest of the season.

It's the same wrist, not sure if it's the same wrist injury.

"Then, before the end of camp with Class AA Pensacola, Kirilloff sprained his right wrist and missed the first month of the season."

"Twins outfielder/first baseman Alex Kirilloff will undergo surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist this week, tweets Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press."

It’s possible, since he has access to way more information than us. Frankly, I think we were full steam ahead getting them both settled in for 2022, and Sanó has fallen out of favor with the Twins.
