Have these ESPN announcers ever heard of Kenta Maeda? They seem to be sure that Berrios is starting Game 1 of the playoffs. Like that isn't even worth of discussion.

They also treated Sano striking out 4 times like it was some really awful event, when in reality it happens all the time. They clearly haven't watched many games.

Maeda Berrios Pineda Hill is one of the better rotations I have seen from any team recently

Yeah, definitely. Even more so if Odo manages to come back for the playoffs in the form of his last start.

They talked about the Twins' rotation like they just read the scouting reports from last year instead of bothering to look up the current stats.

Yes, every ESPN or FOX, etc game blacked out for mlb subscribers. For the Fox game you couldn't even get the condensed game the next day. It appears there will be no in-game video highlights tonight.

The playoffs were never going to be part of the mlb subscription. I doubt there will be an option to purchase streaming rights to the playoffs tho you get it "free" if you have ESPN etc on cable. A few years ago you could purchase playoff video from centerfield on mlb, which was slightly better than nothing.

Thanks for the warning. Hmmm...

I thought i'd watched a fox broadcast on mlb... But maybe i was driving and listened to it on the radio. Or as Fox is locally broadcast, maybe i turned that on without checking mlb? I am confused, and now prepared for disappointment come October.

Thanks for the heads up.

National crews don't do it for me. Just a general Sportscenter type vibe. Local are way better I especially liked the Sox broadcast. I would definitely trade Justin straight up for AJ

BB.

What are other non-in play ways to get on base?

Catcher's interference has been relatively popular thus far this year...

Warning: nitpick alert.

I know you meant getting on base without the ball being put in play by the batter, but in BB, K/WP, and K/PB the ball remains in play. HBP and CI result in time being called.

Edit: Since the beginning of 2019 IBB occurs with the ball not being in play.

A little perspective--the last three series have come against playoff teams, the Twins went 6-5. Seven of those games were on the road. The Twins pitched pretty well, didn't hit great against three good pitching staffs, but probably the series against the White Sox cost them the Central Division.

I've picked more than my fair share of nits, so no worries.

Yes, i did mean to include "by the batter" in my description.

Your clarity in distinguishing what i meant from what i said, and to answer both is greatly appreciated.

And i'm just as glad the Twins ended their curiosity where they did.
