Kevin Love = Awesome

Recommended Posts

Hopefully he'll have a respectable cast of teamates to play with in the not so distant future

He already does. Before the Buddinger injury and Love breaking his hand, ESPN picked them to finish 3rd in the West. I thought that was a little high, but if Rubio comes back playing well, nobody will want to play this team come spring.

---Bingo. Chase, Shved and AK47 were great pickups. Rubio coming back will make a huge difference. And if B-Roy can find a way to stay healthy and contribute, you're looking at a very dangerous team.

In recent years, a lot of people didn't notice that the T-Wolves were still playing in the first couple of weeks of April because the Twins season had started. Next year, a lot of people may be too consumed by the T-Wolves in April to notice that the Twins have started their season.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Rubio-Shved pairing on the floor. That is going to be a nasty combination for anyone to defend. Spread the floor with Love and AK, Pek waits at the hoop for dump-offs and those two drive the lane.

Let's hope Shved starts getting more minutes as we go.

First, the article by Wojnarowski makes me cry. The disrespect given to the guy who MIGHT BE THE BEST OVERALL PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE after LeBron's numbers decline is a disgrace. That he wants a team around him reminds me so much of KG that it is gross. Can you imagine K-Love going to the Clippers or to Brooklyn next year and immediately winning a championship?

Anyway, the T-Wolves were great last year with Rubio and Ridnour as the two. I like that. Shved then subs in for both of them and Malcolm Lee can just stop trying to be an NBA player (seriously, what is with this team continuing trying out JOKES at the two-guard?????). Ridnour was great as the two guard last year with Rubio. Pekovic is getting better and Kirilenko is that Marion-like player that really can stabilize the team. NOW . . . Derrick Williams? He is not getting appropriate playing time AT ALL because of some strange love for unskilled Dante Cunningham. So either play him or trade him. Full stop. Williams, next year's second round pick and 2014's first-round pick for Gasol?

To be honest, I don't really have a lot of sympathy for him. Should he have been given a 5th year? Yes. But the timing of this is just ridiculous. Keep it in house during the season. And to complain that there is no continuity? Either you want an improved team or you want things to stay the same. Can't have it both ways.

I don't know, I have a pretty strong dislike for Kahn and I've never had to share a room with him. I can't imagine being Love in that dynamic. But you're right he's one helluva hypocrite in this thing.

Kevin Love hates David Kahn and Glen Taylor so much, he signed on to be their employee for another four years.

Follow the money. Your current team can offer you more, now he and his family are set for life.

I am a little torn on this. We bash our athletes when the speak in cliches and don't give any quotes of value. When one does speak his mind, we bash him for being selfish. Who cares if this is out in the public. If Love is saying it in private, it will leak anyway... it always does

On one level I apprecite his honesty and willingness to go off script. On the other hand, the timing was very ill-advised. The team was just starting to play better, and Rubio is on the verge of coming back. It risks becoming a distraction. Keep it in house during the year, then air it out over the summer if that does work.

Also, a couple of the things he said were kinda dumb. They should have tried it with Love and Jefferson? Really? Does that work often, having 2 starting front court players who either can't or won't play defense?

Oh he's not wrong in most of what he said. It's the timing of it. He knew this would provoke a reaction, to the point where it would likely become a distraction. Distractions during the season can only hurt the team. It is not in the team's interest to deal with this. How do you think Love's teammates feel about having to answer questions on this instead of about what's happening on the court?

If he had done this over the summer, fine. But in doing it now, he put his own interests over those of his team.

That's not what a leader and a winner does.
