Article: Ben Revere's Best Moments

Recommended Posts

I had seats on the third base line when Revere somersaulted and I believe my direct statement was: "Go, Go, GO BENNY GO! Wait..No! Oh god-wait-what the-OhMyGod! YAAAAAAAAY!!!!!"

Any player who can do that will always be memorable no matter what uniform they wear. (I do hope Philadelphians are a little more considerate of him than they are of Santa Claus)

I particularly enjoyed the part where he had a good enough season that the Twins could flip him for anything.

Somebody should just give you a little smuck across the back of your head... lol... A Finger Flick across the nose or something.

Jeez... The Guy was nice enough to give you two decent pitchers and you still compliment him with the back of your hand. lol...

I'd say the same of any Twins player whom I don't think is particularly good at baseball. Play deceptively well long enough to turn into something. Ben was nice enough to do so. So it absolutely was my favorite part of the Revere experience. It was not the dozens of groundouts to the pitcher followed by grinning his way back to the dugout.

Revere was a class act and a guy I would want to play baseball with any day. Really sad that the Twins traded one of the best smiles in baseball, but for the return they got, hey, can't complain too much. I find it very interesting that several broadcasters thought he stole a HR, where the replay clearly shows he was about a foot from the top of the wall when he made the catch.

My favorite Ben Revere moment was during an intrasquad scrimmage a few years ago in spring training. Revere was playing CF and Cuddyer was on 2nd base. Morneau was at the plate and hit a deep one back to the warning track. Revere caught it and sort of took his time throwing it to the cutoff man (3 bounces), Cuddyer seeing this decided to not only tag up to third, he in fact went all the way home. Beating the relay throw home by a hair.

I will miss watching Revere's amazing plays, but am glad to see the Twins pick up some badly needed pitching. I wish Ben the very best in Philly and hope to see him in the World Series against the Twins in 2015.
