White Sox Manager Rick Renteria being monitored for possible Covid-19 infection

What's more troubling to me is that a billion-dollar organization, with a testing system in place, can't prevent the spread of Covid-19.  MLB has the worst response, with regions instead of bubbles.  And yet, we are supposed to be rushing our kids back into school and our workers back to work.  Whether or not sports returns or continues will be far less impacting on our lives.  I want to see baseball badly, but not at a high cost.

I see the mixed signals and it baffles me. Why are we even talking about rushing children back to school? It seems a risky ploy at best. Why not do the distance learning until we get a vaccine? If people want to have their children do extracurricular activities, open them up, and have the parents sign a waiver. My wife feels differently, she wants them back in school asap. What a mess.

Or maybe he has a cold.

Or allergies. I mean cough and congestion are pretty common for me throughout the year. But I’m glad they tested him and are keeping him out of the game and away until they have results.

Oh, for sure, the testing is absolutely mandatory. I'm just not ready to label him and the entire sport of baseball a dead man walking because he's not feeling well. My kids had a fever of 101 over the weekend. People still get sick with other things that aren't nearly as note-worthy as coronavirus.

Nope, everyone who has a cough has COVID and everyone who tests positive is going to die. And false positives in testing are not a thing either. Run, hide, you cant escape it.

My wife and I both had pretty bad allergy symptoms here in the Chicago area over the weekend. Let's hope that's what is troubling him.

We picked a days-dead racoon carcass up from the edge of our hay field today. Unfortunately, the dog found it first.

Sense of smell working- check.

You, too? Man ... this year has been bad ... I'm on prescription allergy meds now.

That said, yeah ... that was my point above ... could be a lot of things. However, given the debacle with the Marlins, I'm glad they pulled him out, tested him, and quarantined him until the results are in.

In this metaphor, the raccoon is the White Sox after the Twins finished with them?

With Miami outbreak less than a week into season, I cannot see a full season being played.  17 and counting so far for 1 team.  It would appear they kept it within their team, but that is crazy.  Games can still be played but there will be times that games are just shut down for periods and we will have an all minor league roster, with normal pitchers playing catcher, just like little league games.

Every player and coach on the team they just played was exposed and likely in close contact with many of the infected. Plus the umpires. It only takes one guy to get infected and spread it around for 2-3 days before testing positive. Then boom, 30% of your roster is gone. There’s just no way to keep players away from infected individuals if they are allowed to go out on the town during down time. At least the Twins won’t be playing in any of the major hot spots. But the teams that are playing in Texas, Florida and California are just ticking time bombs.
