Cord cutters dilema - How do I watch Twins Games?

Recommended Posts

I don't "get" this whole thread. From the prices being quoted, it seems my Spectrum bill of $87 where I get 100s of channels (including multiple FSNs) and unlimited mobile access to Twins baseball along with replays is a steal. What am I missing about the draw to cord cutting? I also get the Spectrum TV app which is similar to other streaming services with access to movies and TV series on top of live TV. Although, I think it is pretty clear that the Spectrum TV app is not on the level of the popular streaming services.

it is a steal!

However the skinny bundle plus internet and Netflix, is usually around the same price as cable anyways on a per month basis.

The advantage is being able to add a skinny bundle for a month, vs cable requires a 1 or 2 year contract. So committed to $80 vs committed to $1000

NFL - games free on nationally televised networks - number of fans steadily increasing

MLB - no games on nationally televised networks - paid TV only - number of fans steadily decreasing

Hmmm...

MLB offered solution? Speed up the games nobody can watch.

Genius!

NFL games are free...if you are in market. Unless it's on NFL Network, or ESPN. Otherwise, pay for Sunday Ticket.

There are also free baseball games. Fox will televise 3 nationally this Saturday.

As Sconnie alluded to, my reasoning behind not signing up for cable/satellite is I don't want to be locked into a contract.

The only thing I want to watch on live TV is baseball, so I only want to pay for TV through the season. Free content on YouTube and the massive and dirt cheap streaming options like NetFlix or Disney+ are more than enough to hold me and my family over otherwise.

The regional sports networks seem to get dropped on a fairly regular basis, so another concern of mine is committing to a two-year contract with a provider only to have them drop FSN. If I remember correctly, that happened to Dish customers last season.
