By the end of today, I would like to see Baker and Haren in pinstripes. Is that too much to ask?

Yes. Way too much.

I wanted the Twins to keep Casilla, but dollars and sense made it nearly impossible for Lexi to remain a Twin. If Casilla is the ninth regular, who provides premium speed and defense at second base, it is a fine situation. The Twins surely are not in that place. I always thought there was a breakout possible for Casilla, but it never happened since '08, when his surprise performance helped lift the team to game 163.

I can't say that I wanted to keep Casilla, but I expected the Twins to at least wait until the deadline to decide whether to go to arbitration. At best he provide cheap insurance in case they can't find another infielder this off season. At worst he wasn't going to get much of a raise, and they could cut him before opening day for 20% of that contract if one of the other options makes him expendable And if another team wanted Casilla for his arbitration salary, the Twins aren't likely to get anything better than him for anything cheaper.

Not seeing the basis for all of the angst about this. The guy was given every opportunity to cement himself in a starting role here, and he consistently failed to do so.

He had a few good spurts, but they were always followed by longer, awful spurts.

Too many lackadaisical moments from him to convince me that he brought it every night.

This was his year to prove that he was part of the solution and not part of the problem, and I don't think he did it.

I would take Casilla over all the other futile INF options (besides Carroll). He is a great fielder and has plus speed. That alone is worth it. I'm not extremely upset over the deal, but just think the Twins have decided to move on from him. That happens. Hopefully he can excel with the O's and help them compete again next season.
