How long have these guys been around?  THe answer is not even four years.  If we are to ask fan bases around the league which are the franchises that have a strong reputation and track record for raising pitching our Twins wouldn't crack the 10 or even he top 20, to be quite honest with you.   I think maybe we should wait awhile and see some arms actually come through the system before such a claim can be made.  

 

I don't think a free agent or his agent cares what "fan bases" think of an organization's reputation. They care about those within the industry.

So would I. Maybe they could work out an agreement to sign him after Hill goes on IL so that there`d be flexibility in the 40 man roster. Looks like they are in communication w/ him. As long as those who need work in spring training get it, the more the merrier 

 

If I researched the right info a team cannot put a guy on the IL until after spring training... Too late for us to sign Walker. 

 

I would suggest we do a minor league deal with a major league invite. If makes the major league club have a kicker that pays him a decent salary with innings and starts incentives. Have a second year mutual year of the contract. Not sure if he would do but....

Hill can go on the 60 day IL as soon as spring training starts.

I'd put the odds of Pineda, Bailey, and Hill all being healthy and effective in the second half as very low. If Walker demonstrates he can be productive, I have little doubt there will be a place for him in the rotation.

Especially considering the fact that Hill, Bailey and Odorizzi are all potentially gone at the end of this season, and the twins will not know anymore of whether Grateral will be able to start since they will be using him in the Bullpen this year. I'd say it would be a great find to get Walker in here and then mid summer sign him to a reasonable 2 year extension? That will not only bring depth to the rotation this year, but potentially lock down a spot for the following year.

Reclamation projects like Walker are a dime a dozen. Can't believe we have 2 threads going. He should wait for a ST injury.
