A good friend's wife passed away, please take a look

I know this is well outside the TD space but given that I have a platform here to speak, I feel it's important to share when and where I can.

A very good friend of mine just moved out of state and his wife suddenly passed in her sleep. She was in her mid-30s. He has a four year old daughter and is basically reeling from all that is happening to him.

This hits a real soft spot for me personally (on top of him being one of my closest friends) because I lost my mom and brother in a car accident many years ago and I know the long, painful road he is going to travel in the coming months.

He is not a wealthy man. He is strictly blue-collar and if you have a buck, consider tossing it his way. He's an amazing man and one of the great artists of the Twin Cities community.

For what it's worth, from this one moderator's standpoint at least, it wouldn't matter to me who the TD member was who posted something like this, it's A-OK. While anything can be taken too far, part of the aim of TD is to build community, and this fits.

So I pinned this post to the top, for a few days, in case anyone wonders who.

This is eerily like what happened to a friend of mine.  His little sister passed away a few years back and she was just 34.  He set up a GoFundMe for his brother in-law.  His sister Lisa left behind two small children and a husband.

If anyone can look at that picture and not get choked up then you probably don't get me.  My mom lost her dad when she was four and my dad passed 19 years ago on the 13th of this month. Good job on your part, Brock
