I agree 100% on Gibson. Kepler I'm 50-50 on. He has played a serviceable center field. But his hitting isn't anywhere near where he was when he was close the being the team's MVP.

Concur, and you really don't have good options. I rather take a chance on Kepler than play Wade.

I hope you're right. Hopefully the FO flips Eddie for a reliever or a starter and Larnach will be ready to go for next year.

Yup. No team needs an outfielder that hits .280, has over 30 dingers, and over 100 RBI. What a horrible player. No team needs to put up with that.

I think the Twins could get a few nice offers, but with Eddie's inability to take a walk and defensive regression I hope the Twins don't keep him around for much longer.

Especially since they have Larnach in the pipeline who looks more patient and a better raw hitter

There’s no doubt they’ve hit it hard tonight. But defensive placement is a part of the the game

So is making the play required. Catching the line drive over your head...or catching the little popup 30 ft behind second base. Not making a ridiculous dive 10 ft from a single and turning it into a double.

And Sano whiffs for the 8th time in 12 AB's.

I don't think thats very good. Toss in that weak pop up in the 2nd and you have the anatomy of failure. Kepler and Garver are right there as well. those 3 guys have killed us.

It's definitely a part of the game but positioning only gets you so far. Again, it's possible to say the Yankees have played a very good game defensively while also saying that the Twins have run into a brick wall of bad luck.

Results, process.

But hey, go ahead and be snarky while looking at the things that can dictate a single baseball win while losing a baseball season.

The Twins have played better tonight, no doubt, and suffered from some bad luck.

But they haven't outplayed the Yankees. Driving in runs in part of the game. Not giving up needless bases is part of the game. These things matter.
