And you know what is so crazy about this team? Nelson Cruz is a bona fide winner. But as I write this I remember that so was Jim Thome. Our team is built with proven winners. Why this happened, I can't explain it other than to say that my love for baseball is not what it once was after game 5 of the 2002 ALDS against Oakland.

100 wins is impressive but given the home run record on top of that, it's likely the 2019 Twins become a sad footnote of baseball, just like the 2001 Mariners...

 

If anyone remembers the 2019 Twins at all.

 

The season hasn't been a failure because they lost three straight games, but it IS embarrassing and if anyone in the future thinks back to this team, it'll be wryly.

It depends on if the team regresses next year or moves forward.

 

2019 can either be a wry memory or acknowledged as the first big step forward, after several years of futility.

I don't think they were even built to win in the regular season. Cleveland wins this division if 3/5 of their rotation and Ramirez don't miss a significant portion of the season.

Cleveland lost the division by what, eight games?

 

And it's not as if the Twins skated through the season without injuries. The best defensive centerfielder on the planet played 87 games and almost every other position player went down at least once, many of them twice.

 

Cleveland had all the opportunity in the world to win the division and failed miserably once they had to face baseball teams that weren't cellar dwellers.

 

You're underselling the Twins and overselling Cleveland horribly.

I can't wait for all the ...... "it was a great ride", "no one expected this team to do what they did, anyway"  blah blah blah, etc etc etc etc etc..... that is coming.......

 

It really is remarkable that this organization fails so horribly in the post season. Truly remarkable.

Its apparently not only pitching. “Las bombas” have a way of disappearing in the postseason. See how good we are manufacturing runs

It's literally the opposite. Hence the home run revolution. Just not happening for Minnesota. I think Kepler and Garver are hurt, but I have no idea what is going on with the rest of the team.
