I think I'm cheering for the Braves to win the world series this year. I'm fed up with the rich teams (NYY and LAD) and Houston already got their championship, so bring on the Braves.

I'm the opposite. Atlanta got huge subsidies, and isn't investing in the product. I hope they lose. At least the rich teams are paying players

Im watching the Tampa Bay Rays hit Vrelander hard! They were not as "good" as the Twins....they have good pitching. I dont know how this will end but this is a great series to watch. They had no fear because there were no expectations I guess....

The Rays, facing elimination tonight, are going with a bullpen game -- but using an electric reliever like Diego Castillo at the outset really seemed to set the tone. (Jumping on a short rest Verlander in the first inning helped too!)

It's perhaps a model the Twins should have followed, instead of saving Rogers for a late inning situation that never really came. Especially since we were mostly committed to a bullpen game in game 2 anyway.

They spent millions on the area around the ballpark, have the highest-paid analytical staff in the league, have their highest payroll in team history, and nearly doubled the salary of coaching/staff/scouting as well. How are they not reinvesting the money received?

Someone is going to way overpay for Keuchel. If you don't score a lot of runs and you have a poor infield defense don't sign him.

He's essentially a veteran Dakota Hudson. For all their excellence in defense this year, an ideal Cardinals lineup does not lead to an ideal defensive alignment. Keuchel backed by Teheran immediately in that game could have meant a Braves win. Instead, they went to bullpen arms, leaving Teheran in a spot where he didn't know whether to dial it up or save himself for multiple innings. That would have been the spot to utilize Tomlin, frankly.

The twins stood a better chance of taking a game or two from the Astros....the rays are about to send the series back to Houston. Anyone who wanted to play the Yankees should seriously consider seeing a doctor. Although the twins are so mentally ****ed it may not have mattered. I still think Houston is better than NY but maybe they’re vulnerable

Investing in the area around the stadium is investing in the on field product?

I’m pulling for the Nats from the NL. They’ve never won and I just like them. I will never cheer on the Braves. If it’s the Braves vs the Yankees? I cheer for no one because I will never cheer on the Yankees, either. I want the Cardinals to win tonight.

The Cards won by a couple of inches. Ball barely a hit by Molina to tie game and then Ozuna beating the throw to first in the 10th inning.

The Braves outscored their opponents by 112 runs; the Cards 102.

Nine zero, so far.... Should the cards pull their starter in the first? Should he have a short leash?

9-0 and only 1 out in the 1st!  I probably let him go 1 inning and then run some sort of a bullpen game using your lesser relievers.  Treat today as a bullpen for Flaherty and save him for Game 2 of the NLCS.

I think you have to do this.

Cards have already made defensive substitutions. Matt Carpenter already out of the game.
