Front Page: The Minnesota Twins Are 2019 AL Central Champs

Very, very happy that in a very special season the Twins took the division.  The beginning of the year was heaven with all the long ball action.  The middle of the year was torture as the huge division lead was whittled away to nothing and eventually knocked out of first place.  The end of the year was a grind but even with all the injuries, the Pineda suspension and our main rotation in shambles this team never quit.  They kept fighting.  They kept winning and they held off the Indians to take the Central division crown.  Unbelievable and fantastic.  Here's hoping for a little more Twins magic in the post season.

This has been a wonderful season - congrats to the Twins on a Great Year.  Cleveland kept the pressure on but the Twins sure responded well.    On a side note - this is the first season I have purchased MLB.TV and I could not have had any better timing - getting to watch most of the games in this Division Championship year!    Been a long time but sure is sweet.

Just... Wow! Never saw this coming before the season started. Congrats Twins!

Sidenote thanks to everyone who's a part of TD... Owners, mods, members. I'd be a Twins fan regardless, but it is so much more fun being a Twins fan with this wonderful place to follow the team.

Just came here to say I was wrong. Thought the team would fold after the lackluster deadline, and I was dead wrong. Congrats to my favorite baseball team and I will take my lessons learned this year with me moving forward!

I think we all had doubts at different points in the season... That's being a Minnesota sports fan! My meltdown was the hot second Cleveland took a half game lead in the division. Thought that was a momentum killer for our Twins. I'm very glad to eat crow! They kept their foot on the gas and overcame a lot of obstacles to get here today.

This season, especially the 2nd half, was a good lesson in how to keep the faith.  There were a lot of bridge jumpers in early August when injuries started setting in and the Twins were having problems beating the Indians and kicking away games to teams like the Marlins.  But this team is different and they're resilient and it's a testament to the depth that the organization has for numerous fringe guys to step up -- especially the ones in the bullpen -- and pull everyone through to this point.  This team is NEVER out of a game and there's no deficit too big with the power in the lineup.  The bullpen is starting to round into a formation where if the starter can only get thru 6, there's credibility to finish the game.  I think this is the year they finally slay the dragon and get that gorilla off the franchise's back.

MLB channel has good coverage. Was able to see some of the coverage. They ended their segment following Romo running around the field at Tiger Stadium. Lol.

I loved his comment: 'looks like I was able to weasel my way onto another winning team'!!

There weren't too many 'experts' that picked the Twins over Cleveland before the season started.

Meanwhile. Detroit could still lose 115 and tie the Orioles of 2018 for 4th most losses in modern MLB history.  Mets lost 120.; Tigers lost 119 (and should have lost more...thank you Twins.....; Philly A's lost 117 many years ago; and then the O;s lost 115 last year. So Tigers could get in there twice!

If O's lose 110, I don't recall any team ever losing this many games in back to back seasons (115 and 110).

Twins could still equal their most wins but it would take a sweep and that realistically won't happen. But it might! Hey why not!

Actually, if I recall correctly, a relatively surprising amount of "experts" were picking the Twins to win the division.
