Front Page: Twins Game Recap (9/20): Randy Dobnak Continues to Dominate in 4-3 Win

Recommended Posts

Great seats, everyone was into the game, just overall had a great experience.

Okay, okay, maybe the win and a pennant race had something to do with it.

:)

I was right next to the camera well above the press box. I was tempted to start off a “Ric Flair Woo” to get twinsporto’s blood pressure worked up, but I was too wrapped up in May’s performance to time the lull in the volume/crowd noise right :)

Agreed, 100% the crowd was great!

Down the stretch and relying on names like Randy Dobnak and Devin Smeltzer and Cody Stashak to fortify the pitching staff  .. how unlikely but totally fun is that?!

The 'Red Wings Three'....making a splash for the Twins. They took the best of what we had and are making it work. (Romero....they can discard)

Although it makes me uneasy every night...its probably good that Cleveland keeps winning. It forces the Twins to play at a high level and not slack off. The teams that are high energy going into post season often do quite well...rather than teams that have had nothing to play for, over a long time (Tampa Bay Lightning anyone? Maybe the Dodgers?)

Clearly Twins can't really take a night off, even against terrible opponents.

Too bad I recently adopted a dog. If I was still looking, I'd be looking for a bulldog mix and naming it Dobnak. I understand it was the Royals, but he just keeps coming out and performing. I'd say he's the current favorite for the 2020 5th spot. I also wouldn't be surprised if he earns the 4th spot. Hope he's a Twin for a long time.

You can always adopt more dogs :)

Forget porto, MY blood pressure would have shot up, as I'm really sick of the Flair Woo at Twins games too!

I was at the game with Blake and my two sons.

It was a great birthday for me with great company.

I’ll go to game with Blake anytime.

Thanks and likewise.

The game really capped off a great week for me.

Now, I have to head back to the real world.

I love the way the recap writers are able to have distinctive voices.  Love your style, Cooper.  (Love all you guys, though(

While he's not doing it alone, Sano seems like he has been performing at an MVP-type pace lately.  He seems all grown up out there.  Literally and figuratively.  It looks like he's got an offseason job if he wants one--Mitch Trubisky and Aaron Rodgers would be having nightmares if they saw that man coming off the edge.

I suppose it would take some Twins losses, but it would be kind of cool if they won their 100th game precisely as the Royals lost there's.  Not to pile on the Royals, but it would just be a neat mathematical coincidence.

Someone has to mention that Sano has a titanium rod in his leg. And his hustle was worth noting too. Man, if I am a catcher I am not blocking the plate when that guy has a head of steam up

All those who said, cut him, trade him, he is done.... please make your apologies as public as your criticism was. Crow is on the menu for you.

I am really happy for Miggie.  He has found his stroke.

I went on Thursday night with Gibson starting.   It was nerve wracking for most of the game because you just don't know what you have.  I was glad he got pulled early because he is so slow and boring!  The game is probably 30 minutes longer when he is in.

"Trevor May also has a 1.62 ERA since the start of August. Elite."

Thanks for pointing that out. It seems the big homers stick in my mind too much. The back to back on two pitches on September 17 against the White Sox that tied the game in the 6th at five in what would be the 9-8 victory in 12, and the 3 run bomb in Boston against Devers on September 3 (two of the 3 runs he passed on to Thorpe, thank you very much). But that is really all. Stiking out the side in the the 9th after watching them get 3 hits off Graterol............ that was very impressive.

Hey.... the two days I mentioned were Tuesdays. Maybe avoid Tuesdays?  ;)
