Hopefully it's just resting for a couple of days.

Good stuff - it was originally reported a shoulder soreness, but bicep tendonitis can be found in the shoulder area.

The reality is, tendonitis of any kind really doesn't subside unless given a significant amount of R&R...which at this point, the Twins don't have the luxury of doing. Now, if the lead was around 10 games or so in the division, that might be the case. Ideal timing, though, given that it is September and the Twins have a number of options in the pen.

I'm not a real chiropractor but I do play one on Twins Daily....I've had something similar and that bicep-shoulder soreness can originate in the shoulder blade. A couple of quick adjustments and he could be a brand new pitcher. Hopefully it's just that.

Man, it’s always something.

It’s kind of remarkable how successful this team has been given the injuries. I don’t remember the timing and may miss a few, but it’s a litany. Sano started the year injured. He came back and Garver got hurt. Garver came back and Buxton got hurt. Buxton came back and Cruz got hurt. Cruz came back and Rosario got hurt. Rosario came back and Buxton got hurt again. Cron and Marwin have spent significant time of the IL. Odorizzi has an IL stint. Pineda has had two (planned). Gibson is on the IL. Hildenberger was expected to be a major bullpen piece, and is just now getting healthy.

We can’t seem to get all of the key pieces on the field at once.

All you hear is about in national media is how amazing the Yankees are for beating up on the Orioles 50 times without Stanton and Severino. You wouldn’t even know the Twins had a single IL trip all year. But, you can probably count the number of games the Twins have had their full squad on one hand.

Without actually looking it up, I would guess the number is zero. Between the time Sano came off IL and Buxton went on Rosario, Cruz and Cron all had IL stints.

At least Plesac got rammed today and the Indians will be dropping another game to the Sox.

Reynaldo Lopez threw a 9in 1 hitter w 11ks. 2 starts ago he had a 5in no hitter before he left with dehydration. in between: 2/3 innings 6er... under team control until 2024.

What's normal? I have been under the impression that the 2019 Twins have been quite lucky with injuries. Seems like one player down any given week, but rarely more than one. That, to me, seems like pretty good year. And the pitching staff has been remarkably injury-free.

There must be statistics on the average number of IL/DL days per team in a year. I'd guess that the Twins are below average (although not all IL days are the same depending on who is out).

Good day for Lopez for sure.  He definitely flashes talent several times a year.  It's a rollercoaster though.  If Cease and Kopech end up being what the Sox hope they are, then Lopez slides to #4 and our archenemies look pretty scary.  That's a lot of 'if's' though.

It might depend on how Reed is counted.

Yes. What the Twins have faced, injury wise, is minimal. Certainly nothing comparable to what the Yankees, especially, have faced. And once a player is released, they don't count for team stats. Not in my book, anyway.

My lower back has been bothering me on my left side, and leg. I was looking for a cheap affordable diagnosis without all that messy bone crunching and snapping. Any idea what's up there? If it helps I can send pics?

Per Spotrac, the Twins have the 3rd fewest IL days of all MLB teams:

https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/disabled-list/cumulative-team/

I guess that wouldn't count Hildenberger (AAA IL). But most of these IL days belong to Astudillo, Mejia, Wade, Reed, Magill, and Moya -- hardly key pieces. I'd say the Twins have been rather fortunate in terms of health in 2019.

The Yankees IL number certainly gets inflated by Ellsbury, Tulowitzki, and Greg Bird, but they've lost Severino and Betances for the whole season so far, plus Stanton and Andujar for virtually the whole season so far too, plus Gregorious and Hicks for half the season, Judge for almost half, etc. I think those kind of lengthy, overlapping absences would be more damaging than consistently being at 80-90% strength.
