The Twins front office has just got to be pulling their hair out with the bad play at home. I'm sure they would really love to take advantage of this pennant race and tickets should be flying out the window. Should be non-stop sellouts, (I don't know if it has been sold out), but yeah, the way the season is going there should be a MAJOR buzz going around in Minneapolis and serious excitement but the team plays so poorly in their own backyard how can there be excitement? I actually feel bad for the front office with this unbelievably poor baseball at home.

Are there any other teams in pro sports where the fans in attendance don’t boo bad play?

Red Sox. Sweet Caroline is just as fulfilling if the home team's down 7-2 in the 8th, or up. And it's not just rose-colored glasses - but the fans do know how to cheer without being told to by a jumbotron. Some leather-lung rando starts "Let's Go Red Sox" and pretty soon you've got that side of the park going in unison. Of course there's a collective groan, or worse, when things go badly. But booing? Not close, in my experience.

Should be non-stop sellouts, (I don't know if it has been sold out)

Announced attendance: 31238

TF capacity: 39504

For a first place team, on a pleasant weekend night. Don't get me started, about the MN baseball fanbase.

And there it is! Smalley: "I haven't seen a pitcher with as good of stuff as VerHagen tonight."

Roy. Please. We're not stupid.

We're not stupid. But Verhagen's location was. mid 90s fastballs up and in. change ups and curves buried at the bottom of the zone. For 1 game, he obviously had feel and command. Twins also extended the zone, perhaps out of that same over-confidence.

And Arraez will hit. Has at every level. Contact skill is elite. Command of the zone is close elite imo. Approach is already solid, should look to drive more balls as defenses adjust. But guys with elite contact (hand/eye coordination) can usually add power through maturity and getting stronger or through approach, swinging harder and pulling more. If this is Arraez slumping, he'll be a really good player. Like Joe Mauer good.
