This Cleveland lineup is a lot different after the deadline. They really helped themselves. They obviously miss Bauer, but overall this is a better team adding those two bats.

the starting pitching has been simply awful in this home stand so far... inferior against good teams

This is the same crap that Rocco pulled on Tuesday with Berrios and yesterday with Perez -- leave the starter out there way too long in a quixotic attempt to get to 5 or 6 innings so you don't tax the bullpen.  Well guess what, buddy, you've got this great offense that finally woke up at the end of each of the last 2 games but you were too far behind for it to matter because you left the starter in for too long.  Why did you think you could send Gibson back out there given what you saw over the last 3 innings?  

 

You can't blame Littell for that 2-run double.  Crap like that happens and Littell isn't 'high leverage' enough to be expected to get thru that one unscathed.  He did well enough to escape what he could.  But this is the exact crap that will cause this team's downfall -- Rocco's complete inability to know when his pitchers don't have it and how to maneuver his bullpen.

 

But this game is far from over...provided the bats keep it going.
