After the Twins won the home run battle against the Yankees, but lost the war, I was in a bit of a funk. However, with liberal application of Dr. J., I was able to put things behind me and look forward to the series against the Sox.

*Yes, I've already used the image. However, recycling is in and, what part of "funk" don't you understand? :)

Now the Twins face off against a team, the White Sox, that is in "rebuilding" mode. However, in looking at the Sox fielding stats, it appears the coaching staff needs to be rebuilt too.

*The above really has nothing to do with errors, but, still it's fun to watch. And, it's about the only time Harrelson is worth listening to.

Because more Harrelson distress is always better, here's an encore:

According to this article, http://twinsdaily.com/_/minnesota-twins-news/minnesota-twins/series-preview-no-one-team-should-lack-all-that-power-r8143, the Sox have some issues, (Don't forget the agreed upon amount for promoting your article, Mr. Braun!) beyond being unable to catch the ball.

With that, some random stuff that may or may not be worth thinking about:

1. If a ball crosses the plate, and the ump doesn't see it, is it truly a strike?

2. Conversely, if the ball is out of the zone, and the ump calls it a strike, is it truly a strike?

3. Is it possible baseball has Shrodinger's cat combining with the Heisenburg uncertainty principle when it comes to umpires calling balls and strikes?

4. "If a ball crosses the zone, and the location cannot be correctly observed due to the speed, is it possible to determine if the ball is truly within the strike zone?"

Pitching for the Twins:

Jose Berrios

Pitching for the White Sox:

Lucas Giolito

5. Play ball!

I was going to change the title to reflect that the team is playing Chicago, not KC, but I think it might be better this way as it makes it clear that neither organization is worth our time and effort.

Tread, obviously is a nice touch as well.

Please do change. I can't believe I got it right in the body and got it wrong in the title.

Maybe I need to retire. :)

If I must. Is there another derogatory but still family friendly word you'd like me to insert instead of CHI?

Well, there's...oh, wait, you said family friendly..hmmm...nope, that won't do...

I guess not.

Interesting article from a Yankees' blog. It seems that we've gotten some attention even if we lost the series.

(Note: I found this with NewsNow, a terrific site for keeping track of everything published on the Internet relating to the Twins ... or any other team for that matter. Twins news feed is at https://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/US+Sports/MLB/AL+Central/Minnesota+Twins.)

Update: Another article about Twins power from the NYT.

Any word on Buxton or if they have DFA”d Cave yet after last nights performance. Hopefully it’s Eddie in LF Max in CF and Gonzo in RF can’t let any of these games slip away again CWS.

From what I read Buxton would be with the team on this road trip but not sure exactly when he’d be reinstated.

It's OK to harm cats. They are most certainly plotting to harm you.

all time favorite Harrelson moment was his reaction when Thome hit that walk off blast...

He was a hideous announcer, no doubt. But since I'm an old guy, my favorite Harrelson moments were the 67 times he struck out against the Twins!

My favorite was the Carlos Lee drive that Torii Hunter brought back.

Harrelson: Stretch, stretch, you can put it on the board...

Paciorek: Oh no...

Cave still has options so there’s no need to DFA him unless it’s out of spite.

After the worst homestand of the season the Twins have a chance to make up ground. Pitching is still a big concern and if they stand pat with what they have, they won’t make it. Berrios needs to pitch like an ace tonight, to give us fans something to believe in. Its time to stop losing ground. Stay alive and stay in first . Go Twins!! Magic number is still 60.
