MLB has to make some changes to replay, but I don't know what exactly. Stuff like that was not at the heart of why they started it. That play still needs to be challengeable, but maybe they should just make it clear to managers it's not getting overturned unless it's incredibly obvious the guy was off the bag? Again, I'm not sure what the solution is, I just am not a fan of the current system.

Well, once you go to replay, you've taken the "close enough to count" angle away. And personally, I don't have a problem with that. Guy slides into second base, but loses contact for a split second and gets tagged out? He's out. It's black and white, you overslide and get tagged out, you're out, whether it's by a mile or by a molecule. I mean, if the throw beats the guy at first by a whisker, he's out. Same as if the throw beat him by 3 steps.

In this particular case, I honestly couldn't tell if he broke contact with the bag before the ball hit his glove. It was close.

It was a lemon cake with a raspberry cream filling in between the layers; then there was a lemon frosting around the sides, with more raspberry cream on top with fresh berries.

That seems to me like 5 layers. At least.

I've been checking for trades since early June. Perhaps a Shannon Stewart type deal is what this team needs and fast.

Where's he playing these days? Maybe we can get him back from whatever HS team he's coaching.

Lemon, raspberry cream, lemon, raspberry cream, berries. Doesn’t that make it five? Don’t sell yourself short.

(Also, my wife and I will be traveling through Chicago tomorrow afternoon. Can you meet us at the Oasis on I-80 with any leftovers?)

One change I would make is for the reviewers not to know the call on the field unless it's not possible to keep the umpire's call out of the view of the play. This eliminates the standard that there has to be clear evidence to overturn. The reviewers would rule out, safe, or inconclusive. (Or fair, foul, or inconclusive, etc.) Only if the reviewers rule inconclusive would the call on the field stand.

We are witnessing the rise of a great ballplayer in Luis Arraez. He's a keeper. Polanco and Arraez for the next 10 years HOPEFULLY!

You need to talk to Aggies ... he can't seem to make up his mind.
